...would take priority over profit-making when it comes to the ways companies handle their IPs.
Isn't it sad? I mean it SHOULD be that way, but anyone who believes that a business would ever see it in such a light is deluding themselves. So safe, rehashed, lowest-common-denominator schlock will always be a better bet for sales than being bold, original, and fresh. --- DorkLink said I could borrow his signature so I did (see below): ... Yes when it comes to most publicly traded companies.
Not for indies and passion projects and the middle ground. Huge corporations are hard to sustain, i agree. It need to be unreleting, unfeeling profit machine to pay bills and employees. Private companies and indies keep team small, but some of them achieve such brilliance and complexity that no risk bullshit never dream off and when they find their niche, they can be set for life. You dont need million of customers who have no loyalty and will jump to the next fad. If you want artistic integrity, you find a niche and try to fit them. Alot of developers achieved this rare middleground. It is a wonderful thing and why the most creative, interesting games out there arent made by big corporations --- http://i.imgtc.com/iJyp6bF.png http://i.imgtc.com/ZBw36Qh.png Thanks for the peeps that made the pics <3 if i make typos it means i am on phone ...
