I comply with the police, but as soon as a 2nd Cop Car comes (I've been to jail so I know the protocol) I ask "Am I being placed under arrest?". That's the worst and most stuckup thing you'll get out of me towards a cop - and even then, I'm literally asking so I can prepare myself mentally for it if they say yes. Spent 2 nights in jail in my life and would rather never go back.

Eh. I've had 2 cop cars show up for just speeding. Sometimes patrol officers are bored and it's late at night and give cops extra backup just in case.

Yeah, no.

If you see a 2nd cop car coming it's because you handed your license to them and they saw warrants out on your unpaid tickets and are speaking with backup about whether to arrest you or cut you a break. Officers don't call for a 2nd person just to come shoot the shit.

I remember back in January I was pulled over for my Registration being a month out. And a 2nd car showed up and I was like omfg please not tonight. And I asked the cop "Am I being placed under arrest?" and he was like "oh no no no, see with the recent police shootings and everything going on, we are traveling more and more in pairs just in case. you're just receiving a warning"

Yeah, no. They were discussing taking me in due to some unpaid tickets that I'm aware I have.

What did you go to jail for?

I was pulled over by a cop few months ago. Clean record, never got a ticket, but the officer suspected that I had drugs in the car. I said no, she told me to get out of the car. made me wait. Called for backup. They brought a drug sniffing dog, and searched the car.

found nothing, but was an annoying situation.

You mean don't trust anyone, right? You're friends and family are just as likely to fuck you over.

They annoy you for a reason. They want you to just say yes to the search, and since you said no they are legally able to hold you as long as needed for the dog. Part of it is them wanting you to just throw your hands up and say fuck it, go ahead. The other part is to try and set the precedence in your mind that everytime you say no, they will annoy you with this crap.

Policework has been a profession for a very long time. They are very good and know exactly what they're doing, lol.

Not necessarily true. I was pulled over for speeding by a HiPo once and while they were talking to me a local police car came and stopped and the HiPo shooed them away. This was late at night too, and it was pretty dead in the area. The HiPo gave me a warning and I went about my business.

Ohio state law (I like it's law, might just be their policy) requires police to stop any time there's another cop stopped with its lights on, so you'll often see 2, 3, even 4 cars.

Anyways, this woman is a fucking idiot and no one that hasn't already drank the SC koolaid is going to defend her.

I'm glad you've never experienced shitty friends or families.

You're wrong though, they're the same amount of physical danger and family/friends are far higher when it comes to mental danger/damage.

False.
Several cop cars might show up just for the hell of it, like Chromatic said. I was riding with my friend and he made an illegal left turn out of a parking lot (neither of us saw the sign, and I think they even later took it down). Three cop cars rolled up. Just to give us a warning about making an illegal left turn.

Black people cant pull any of this "am I being detained?" Stuff, they'd be shot.

It's also ironic conservatives tend to side with these folks and not they're beloved Blue Lives Matter in this scenario.

The "am I being detained?" thing is widely misunderstood by moronic sovereign citizen shitheads. It's not a question that's open to discussion. If a you ask a cop that question, it's a yes or no answer. If the cop says no, you leave immediately, if he says yes, you don't get to argue with him about why you're being detained.

That doesn't sound right tbh - can you clarify @DawkinsNumber4? I trust your knowledge on the matter

They must have reasonable and articulable suspicion to detain you. They are not required to disclose this to you but rather the magistrate, however if you ask they often will or will at least hint at the bullshit reason why they stopped you.

They cannot excessively detain you longer than what would be required to perform the stop though. What they are doing has to be directly related to why the stopped you and they have to be able to articulate this in court so that a judge listens to it.

They generally have to notify you if you are being detained if you ask if not for any other reason than you not being able to say later they never told you.
