I just cannot play these games anymore. It is just not stimulating enough. I last played black 2 when it was released, and i think that was the last time i truly enjoyed pokemon.

Been playing pokemon x, started on march this year. I have been on and off that game for months now, and just dragging it. I dont feel fun playing it after the first few hours.

I dunno, i feel too old for this. The content is predictable, i have played the formula for decades. The vanilla content is too easy, most battle end in 3 or less turn, even tough gym battles.

The actual challenge thay is lie behind the multiplayer or post game content like battle frontier require you to do an ungodly amount of grind to get on an even ground and they are very very dreadful. I used to ev train, and in x they made it easier by making them series of mini games, but in the emd they are nothing but more grind. Adult life sadly dont have such leeway of time to allow me to enjoy such repetition.

I am st the 8th gym city on x now, i just decide to stop altogether. Cannot do it anymore

If you are one of those adults who still can enjoy pokemon game (especially the mainline. I still find the mystery dungeon games great and provide more variety and challenge than the main games offer) then i think i envy you quite a bit.

Its too much grinding. Natures/moves/spreads, just boring. I play much more casually to enjoy them.

Even casually, it is just isnt fun. They sre simply too easy and i basically mow trough the vanilla content in autopilot. It is prettt much muscle memory kind of thing.

There is no middle ground between the "high tier" gameplay that require insane amount of grinding and the vanill/base content that are truthfully designed for children to get it quick.

Unless you play in a circle of friend that agree to not ise competitive grind and hardcore min maxing.

I got a 100% living complete pokedex in Platinum, and never felt that same 'wow I wanna do this' in any other game since. I played like 2 hours of Moon and stopped.

They really dumbed down the series. Pokémon felt rewarding when you would beat a strong trainer. Now it just feels meh. Try the SMT series.

O just finished smt iv last april. It was great. I still love jrpg and rpg in general. I binged trails of cold steel and played like 80 hours in less than 3 weeks. ProbAbly gonna do the same when divinity original sin 2 comes out later.

I think i really just need more stimulating games, where pokemon just isnt cutting it out anymore.

Anyway, whats this about dumbing down? I do feel it is alot easier than when i played it as a kid, but i always figure it is due to that i have played dozens of more complex rpgs and system as simple as that just dont cut it anymore

They definitely didn't dumb down pokemon, it generally gets more complex with each generation really. The issue is that it started out pretty dumb and is still pretty dumb but now you're old/aware enough to realize when you weren't before

I'm skipping Ultra Soon/Ultra Moon or whatever. Might get games from the next gen, though.

I kinda wish they'd give you the option of playing without so many tutorials, though. A tutorial for new features for each gen makes sense, but there really isn't a need for a tutorial on how to catch pokemon, how to fish, what a pokemon center is, what a pokemart is, etc. unless the person is absolutely new to the series.

The mechanics gained depth, but the main campaign is ridiculously boring and does absolutely nothing to challenge players. I agree with TC. The only truly engaging content is multiplayer and post-game.

Oh I agree with TC as well it's why I haven't actually finished a pokemon game since platinum. That was just a response to the guy saying pokemon has been dumbed down

i remember geodude, camerupt (evolved from numel) and gulpin.

never got a pokerus in once.

I start to feel like this. And then I take a huge break, and get back into it. I'm working on completing my Alohan Pokedex so I get the easiest shiney charm ever, and hopefully finally get a legit, hatched on my DS SHINEY Charmander.

idk Pokemon Sun really dragged in the middle, but once I said **** it and started rushing past the story, the end got surprisingly interesting.

I think it's time for a franchise overhaul, but I think Pokemon Sun/Moon are as close as it's gonna get.
