To uphold/overturn suspensions etc. Isn't the NFL just a company? Wtf? Why does this bother me so much?

This whole Ezekiel Elliot case is weird. The NFL's lead investigator on his case said he shouldn't be suspended, but the NFL did it any way.

His suspension hasn't been overturned. It's just there's a restraining order in place until there's a ruling. Rulings take months, there's conferences and hearings and such leading up to a ruling.

Because of slow legal process, he's going to play the season but it's not certain he won't be suspended at some point
