I suck at cooking and shopping. I try to get better, but whenever i decide to make a nice meal I realize I don't have anything to cook, so I just make pasta or frozen pizza or something.

So what are some good things to always have on hand, and what are some easy, tasty meals I can actually make? Any advice appreciated.

always must have garlic, onions and tinned chopped tomatoes

if i'm cooking meat then it's always handy to have mince and chicken around since they're versatile and you can play around with it. for fish I tend to go for haddock, mackerel or salmon

I aim for a mixture of meat, vegetables and carbs (e.g. pasta, cous cous, chips, rice, egg noodles) but would tend to buy vegetables from my local supermarket

cooking is fun once you get into the swing of it

Guys I made bleu cheesburgers last night and eggs and bacon today! I know it sounds lame but that's big for me lol.

And then I realized as I was making the bacon....I could add this to a burger. omg so many options.
