It's been placed in limbo after the garbage marketing they did to MD.

Overall the game is great but suffered from that horrendous pre order bonus they tried implementing and the dlc was main game missions cut and sold separately.

Then the whole breach element never took off.

I'm disappointed we may never play the third part of Jensens story

The only way I can see it being saved at this point is if they had way too much work done on Mankind Divided part 2 to just throw it away, they end up releasing it, and it sells gangbusters for some reason.

I doubt any of that would happen, let alone all of it.

Yeah it would have to be sold in perfect timing that we as the customers havent completely lost interest, the bad marketing is forgotten, and the game itself is still up to par with its new rivals.

I think it blew it. DE has been one of the forefront single player games. And in an environment where we had Witcher 3, Fallout 4, Skyrim remastered, doom and Wolfenstein, bloodborne and DS 3, MD held up decently still.

Also still upset David Sarifs VA refused to reprise his role. He was the best fitting va for his character in HR.

Adams VA improved as HR went along and showed it in MD.

I kind of hope they don't "save" Deus Ex. It's like Star Wars, or Ghostbusters, or anything classic that modern audiences don't understand. We have two good games in the series, now it's time to move on.

Why? The setting and gameplay of Deus Ex is easily replicable. Not having more sequels would be a loss for the gaming industry.

But the gameplay is not "easily replicable", and having more sequels would hurt the series' name moreso than help the gaming industry in some manner.

They did replicate it with MD, while the game lacked substance and writing that rivalled its predecessors, the gameplay still delivered when the market is lacking strong stealth games.

The name has already been hurt, since Square Enix runs the show, I am presuming they will try to milk the franchise for what's its worth. So we have to get the most of what we can, for me it's the stealth and cybernetics gameplay.

It's a bit of a stretch to say that the gameplay in MD was reminiscent of that which was seen in the original Deus Ex game.
And regardless, gameplay was only one of the equally important pillars that hold MD up against the test of time.

Not sure about the original first installment, but it does branch out from Deus Ex Human Revolution.

And like I said, in the market that's lacking stealth games, Deus Ex has a lot to provide.

Not just stealth either. You can do completely pacifist runs, stealth combat, regular combat, or a mix.

And MD really improved the combat based augs.
