Atlanta got one, so it's not impossible. Thing is, I think Atlanta had more cool concept moments, universally noticeable absurd moments, and more 'social horror' (I know Peele invented that term this year, but the Juneteenth episode absolutely applies). I get why people may have been more eager to give it gold.

Does Insecure deserve the Emmy. Yes. Will it get it? I don't know.

Pretty good show. Drama about relationships with friends, lovers, and ex-lovers.

Its about love. I started watching like 3 episodes into this season without any knowledge of whos who in the show. Each character in the show has their story. Its easy to pick up. Issa is a wonderful character. Her journey in the show has its ups and down. Theres some consequences shown too with the lifestyle she chooses. Then, you take the season at that point and begin to think that shes just as lost in herself as a person from the time youre introduced to her. Each character kinda experiences love and companionship differently. All missing something in their relationships.

So when it comes to drama like this i try to draw my own experiences into it. I found myself immersed in how the show is written. The writing is trying to show how these characters deal with a void we all try to fill. Theres some pain to whoever put this all together and some characters represent someone we all know going through struggling relationships. Each scene carries meaning. Certain looks from characters just bring out their side/perspective of some scenes. Very cinematic. The thing about this show is how Issa looks at herself and talks through a mirror with her inner dialogue. We kinda do that and hold it inside ourselves but on the outside, just give a neutral reaction or not show how it affects us. Them scenes are great and further the investment viewers have with issa because we see her as she sees herself.
