Alright, think I've got a winning strategy. Playing pretty risky with Nealuchi, but it was paying off. Badass old Raven. Failed this run because I messed up with Elincia. Thought I'd be able to fly her back to safety after killing this dude, but just barely couldn't make it back. Then a crossbow got her. So long as I don't do that again, I think I'll make it.

Update, on turn 7 of 15, going very good. I think this is the one.

Oh, the knights showed up. Wasn't expecting that. Should be simple now.

And we're clear. Finally past my roadblock. Such an intense map.

Ike and the Mercenaries with a Big Damn Heroes Moment. That was just all kinds of badass, holy shit, I love them all.

Also. Just saiyan, Lucia looks amazing with short hair. She's gunning for the position of best girl.

Yeah, it's a very interesting map for the game. There's tons of loot to be had, too, hopefully you got most of them.

A map just to showcase how your old guys from PoR are crazy strong. Just make sure to go quick so you get as much EXP as you can, while losing minimal amounts to Skrimir the hot-head and his infinite laguz horde. Especially the boss, don't let the NPCs kill him.

Oh. Well then you're gonna be very badly disappointed. :(

Kinda sucks that for as much as I like Sanaki, she kinda has minimal in-game time

PoR leans towards the young slim but insanely strong protag trope. He really has no business one handing a zweihander in that shape.

RD Ike is what I imagine Greil (Gawain) looked at his youth. Now he looks capable of handling Ragnell with one arm.

I dont play FE heroes (mobile game) but I'm upset they used his PoR design.

also yeah 2-E is a great map and it has that really sweet bgm (there's another big defend level later with another really sweet bgm. I guess they know you'll take a long time on them lol). I always defended the stairs one level lower than that though, gives you a little more space to move around or to retreat if needed

They added Brave Ike, while he is fully covered in armor/clothing and the different artstyle makes it harder to tell, he does look older than regular Ike. He is also wielding Urvan, which is nice.

Yep. He's pretty darn awesome, especially so if you're a maniac like me and actually managed to transfer his stats.

I remember Crowning him at level 14 or 15-ish because there was no point in having him level up more before promotion.

Also helped by the fact that mono-bows is actually not such a hindrance with 2-3 range and the Double Bow. This is probably the only game where Archer/Snipers don't occupy the bottom tiers in usefulness, besides TRS(aka bastard child of the series).

That's his schtick, though. Caineghis has him run the army since he's his heir yet is so reckless and hot-headed. Needs to learn about leadership firsthand, and calm down as you said.

Cats are horrid in RD. Well, I suppose they're better than Tigers at least(Mordecai's good at setting enemy mooks up to be killed by your other guys, though), but still.

Ranulf is the best Cat in this game and he's still mediocre-ish. Lethe is quite cruddy, and don't get me started on her sister.

Not that it's impossible to use her. Go ahead if you want. However, you'll start to see that she will be a great liability in many cases.

Meh, at least she's better than, say, someone forcing you to use Fiona or Astrid as a core member until endgame.

Those two are far and away the best Fire Emblem games. It's a shame the series devolved into that waifu crap to survive.

mordecai is pretty good if you can get him resolve... let him take a few hits untransformed to build up gauge and lower hp, then transform and wreck everything because you're essentially invulnerable to physical damage

astrid isn't nearly as bad as Fiona or Lyre - she can help in the CRK chapters, and innate paragon makes it easy for her to gain levels in part 2

as with a lot of laguz, the big issue with Lyre and Lethe is increasing their Strike

as a side note: Ranulf caps everything if he's BEXP'd to level 40

Although Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn are blowing them out of the water.

How many of the GBA ones have you played, again? If you haven't played FE7 yet, you can't go wrong with that game once you're done with RD.

You have transfer bonuses on Ike, Jill and Neph. Jill didn't even get a good transfer since IIRC she only got a Skl bonus, and not Str or Spd which she'd really appreciate.

Unless you hack PoR to give you perfect levelups every time and stuff every stat-booster into her(or even easier, just directly edit her stats or hack infinite stat-boosters in), it's mathematically impossible to transfer Lethe's stats to RD bar a minuscule chance for one or two stats. Laguz stat caps are crazy high in that game, so high that it can't be reached even with the great growth rates laguz tend to sport in that game.

Yep! Her tutorial chapters can be kinda boring though. They always killed my interest in playing the actual game even! So I, uh, "acquired" a 100% copy so I could play LHM from the start and boss abuse/promote Sain during Lyn Mode. So, you know, if you have to stick with Lyn Tutorial Mode, well just stick with it, it gets better once you get to Eliwood's story.

FE has always had hot chicks but its the 3ds games that made it a focus that branched off the parent/ offspring too much.

PoR has a far more serious tone while not being too grim. And it has great support conversations. RD loses a bit on the tone, and convos altogether, but still great.

That being said... Camilla is hot as hell.

So I almost failed this map, there was some enemy hiding in a corner where I couldn't see, and found and killed him on the 12th turn. Luck pulls through.

Ranulf is awesome. He wasn't around for a good chunk of Path of Radiance so I didn't have much of an opinion on him, but he's playing a much bigger role now. And dude is great. Might turn out to be one of my favorite characters.

Damn Rolf. Ice cold. I mean, yeah she fucked up and deserved it, but she's still your mom.

For some reason, in this game IS went the route where everyone can support everyone else, just that everyone could have only one support partner active(and could delete pre-existing supports for new ones... wut? 'I've been thinking, Boyd, and I realized I might enjoy way better support bonuses with Oscar rather than with you, so for my sake we should terminate this friendship, effective immediately. Sucks to be you, I guess'), and to account for there now being a whopping xC2 [x(x-1)/2, where x is the total amount of recruitable characters who could support] possible support pairs in-game they did away with support conversations altogether and replaced them with brain-dead, generic one-liners except for a precious few, select pairs.

Yeah, no thanks. Bring back my character development and support chains/webs with multiple partners plz. At least they realized what a stupid mistake they did since come New Mystery, they'd rolled back to something identical to the PoR formula.

Though the new mechanics involved in building supports were innovative and made sense, and I liked that at least: Stuff like healing, rescuing, and shoving potential partners built rapport, as opposed to the 'standing next to them' mechanic being the only possible method since six games back, apart from PoR's 'sent out on the map at the same time'. Haven't played Awakening but from what I hear this mechanic is still implemented there in some form(and still leaving in detailed support convos with character development), which still leaves hope that even when IS does something stupid, at least they learn from it and backtrack before said mistake might become a series staple.

Unfortunately, supports were in a weird place since 80% of the Radiant Dawn cast were all in Path of Radiance and that traditional supports would be extremely difficult to build due to how split the cast is throughout most of the game.

Yeah, healing, attacking while standing next to each other, all that adds to support points. They can also build support while Paired Up, which is another Awakening mechanic.
