You do realize Kaep was already on his way out before the protest and was never gonna play this year.

You realize the team is still in rebuild mode and wanted a cheaper qb.

You realize the team is moving away from the gimmick offense Kaep ran and thus they need a standard qb and not a gimmick so the offense can start to learn the system.

Kaep was getting released before his protest happened. They were already looking at trades and was never going to be a niner this season protest or no.

Hoyer has 9 games with 300 or more yards, kaep has 6. Of the 34 games hoyer had at least 15 attempts, he was only under 200 yards 8 times. Out of the 58 times kaep had at least 15 attempts, he was under 200 yards 26 times.

That right there is why Kaep isn't a starter. And the media distraction, no matter how much in the right his protest is, is why he doesn't have a backup job.

Brian Hoyer's career stats: 59.7% CMP 7.06 Y/A 44 TDs/28 INTs 83.6 rating
Kaep has ~400 more attempts than Hoyer, yet has thrown only 2 more interceptions. Kaepernick is a significantly better passer than Hoyer. Not that Kaep is great or anything, but he's much better than the Hoyers, Glennons, Savages, Bortles, and McCowns of the world.
He doesn't have a job because NFL owners are basically all ultra-conservatives. It has nothing to do with his ability to play quarterback.

Probably not. I have no interest in either one of those mediocre-at-best teams, and there will be plenty of great baseball to watch instead. I might even dare say that Impact Wrestling would be more interesting to watch this Thursday than the Rams and Niners.

yesterday in the seahawks game the 49ers passing game was nonexistant and yet the seahawks still couldn't stop their running game. someone like kaep could have ran all over them and also thrown the ball more than 5 yards.

And kaep hasn't had a y/a over 7 since 2013. Hoyer hasn't had a y/a under 7 since the same year. 3 of the last 4 years kaep has had a completion % under 60%. And that one year above was 60.5%, his second highest in his career. 3 of the last 2 of the last 4 for hoyer are over, with a 67% with the god awful bears last year.

Sure, kaep in 2011-2013 was the better QB by a mile. Nope, definitely can't run anymore! That's in 12 games. The rushing leader amongst QBs, Tyrod Taylor, played 15 games and ran for 580 yds at 5.8 yds. per attempt.
2016 happens to have been the best year of Hoyer's career, closely followed by the 2015 season. I wonder why the Texans dumped him?

2200 yards and a sub 7 y/a and all 4 ints happened when it was a one possession game and 10 tds after he was trailing by 2 scores. Yeah, he can't. Even when most of his attempts are against soft coverages because the team as whole is terrible. He had more sacks than yards against the pathetic bears.
