Im trying to play the Mother/Earthbound series and I looked up why Mother 3 never came to America. Just looking up that, I end up get spoiled on the ending of the game.No spoiler warning or anything. Im kinda pissed about it. When ever that happens to me It makes me not want to play the game. Ugh.

I've all but given up on spoilers. Sucks when it happens, but short of stopping all use of the internet and other media and going to live in a remote cave somewhere, there's only so much you can do to avoid them.

be it games or other things, the internet is filled with spoilers. one time I just wanted to see what actress played a character on the show Vampire Diaries and the first thing I see is "that character dies"

yeah I got the ending of MGS V spoiled for me, simply looking up a video for one specific part of the game (not even close to the end) and it was the top comment on the video....

whats worse though i saw a article for some food thing and the top comment was a spoiler for star wars the force awakens. fortunately I don't give a rats ass about star wars.

I got that same spoiler also from an unrelated thing. I was reading comments on a youtube video. that series Adam Ruins Everything, it was about the funeral industry I think. had nothing to do with movies at all. and someone just randomly posts the Force Awakens spoiler there

people where also just posting giant impossible to miss meme style thing on facebook with the spoiler.

I think the most pissing instance though is when someone you know personally spoils something for you. got this game and my best friend just starts blurting shit when I told him I had the game. its still sitting in its plastic wrap now.

on the reverse end of things though do you find it annoying when people get legit upset over a spoiler thats pretty much common knowledge from say a movie or game thats been out over a decade or more?

used to make me laugh you could get modded on here for saying Aeris/Aerith dies but here on the same sight it showed a picture of that exact scene in the images section for the game

not everyone was around to experience games in the ps1 era (I still play old games for the first time occasionally), so just ask the person you're talking to if they've played that game before you let rip a huge spoiler

while true I see some people that just deserved to be slapped, walk into a topic on here that is clearly talking about story points then get upset. while conversely I could understand if they walked into a topic that appeared to be only discussing gameplay points like character stats or some crap.

if i go onto a topic for a game I haven't completed I back the fuck out the first time I see anyone mention anything story related. and hope not too much has been spoiled for me already

It maters what movie or game it is. I once knew a kid that got super mad at me because i said Darth Vader is Luke's father. I thought everyone knew that.

yeah, pretty much everyone whos grown at least knows that. the one that kills me the most is that person who got modded for the titanic spoiler. like it was an actual even that took place in real life, I bet most people already knew it happened before watching the movie for the first time. I did and I was a kid when it came out.

i will tell you earthbound is about the journey and not the ending. i try to explain the ending to people, but it so far fetch that it doesn't suit the game.

so why didn't mother 3 make it to the states?

I remember when I didn't know how spoiler tags on this site worked (had taken a long break from the site, came back and they where a thing) and getting angry because i'd go into topics to just see long posts of black blocks and not knowing what the hell was going on. in hindsight though probably saved myself from having a lot spoiled for me.

It has to do with Earthbound not doing to well here originally, and that fact it came out at the end of the Gbas life. The Ds was already out.

That reminds me, in Mount & Blade multiplayer, after the movie came out all anyone and everyone spammed HAN SOLO DIES in chat, I almost feel bad for anyone who wanted to see the movie and gt spoiled, but then again it was a shite movie so idc.


I also have a friend like that, anytime he starts talking about the story of a game we're playing when he already beat it we have to mute/Kick him from the chat so he doesn't ssay shit, it's really obnoxious.
