Gonna start Part 4 with ridiculous expectations because the manga was amazing, and, so far, the anime has made each manga part far better. I am pretty hype going in, but before that, I watched some other stuff and never really talked about them, so here's some small thoughts. Magi S2 I really liked it, but it was unfortunate that it pretty much only focused on Aladdin. Hell, my favorites from S1, Morgana and Kougyoku, barely had any presence here. Still, it was a pretty solid story with great animation, and I love the art style, which are all great things for a battle shounen to have. Winder if we'll see more animated. Fate/Zero S2 I'm gonna blame myself for not being as into this one as most people. I watched S1 a few years ago and was super into it. Not really sure why I took such a long break, but it really wasn't meant for that. I forgot a lot of important story and character details and was just a bit confused for a lot of it. I probably should've just rewatched S1, since I feel like S2 won't feel as good to me anymore. Still, I enjoyed it, because ufotable makes amazing action sequences and brilliant scores. Kara no Kyoukai As I said earlier, I'm not technically finished. I also said I had trouble following the plot, which is true. There are just bits of the story I was never able to wrap my head around, and the first four jumping around didn't really help matters. Weird that 5 is my favorite by a long shot, since I've read that people say this is the hardest to follow. I just really liked Tomoe's story. I thought it was extremely moving and more emotional than anything else in the series. Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu S1 This was pretty solid. I wasn't expecting it to be entirely set in a flashback after the first episode, but it worked pretty well. You get to see this bitter old dude at first, then are shown how he became that way. It's not exactl the most unique concept, but it's told quite well. All of the characters feel very real, and the way they grow together is fantastic to watch. I did think the big twist (I guess you'd call it that? Even though you knew it'd happen because it tells you in episode 1) was kinda dumb. Not that it happened, but how it happened. Pretty lame. I also loved the rakugo scenes, which I think were polarizing ITT. I dunno, but regardless, I've watched all that has been available for me to watch, and now time for me to blab about things. New Game+ - Mac kinda said it, this season added two new characters that actually did more than plenty of the original extended class, which is actually how I ended up going to Momo shortly after she was introduced rather than staying on Yun. To actually put some light on it for people that care... Momo existed for probably three roles, first to show Hifumi's growth since the start of the season, second to shed some light on Naru's character (who influences Nene heavily), and third to be the final push for Kou's development. I don't really need to go too far into depth, as if you've seen the show, you probably know what I mean. Fate/Apocrypha - I've honestly nothing real to say about this... I wanted to watch it, I hyped it up for myself, and I've enjoyed what I've seen. Don't really care how it is as an animation, the fights are pretty good and I like quite a few of the servants, which was the whole goal for me. Gamers - I loved this at the beginning, but eventually the gimmick grew stale... Kinda similar to most comedy anime in the past few years to be honest. The original set of characters weren't ever any good but the mixture ended up fairly entertaining. ~~Chiaki's sister best.~~ Altair- Towards the beginning of this season I could easily compare this to Aslan as it's kind of the same case, just Altair is basically "HEY LOOK AT THIS PRETTY BOY PROTAG" towards the beginning. Even the OP kinda spoiled the entire first season due to the many details revealed in it. It got better, however, as Mahamut met defeat. It's a lot more diplomatic of a show and actually got kinda cool later on in the season. Still weaker than Aslan overall though due to cast being overall worse. Bitch Class- I pretty much have this as high as it is because it actually did something in the end to not make the protagonist completely boring. However, according to people it's a horrible adaption where the director of the anime decided to make his favorite character a main character and halved the protagonist's personality. Hina Logi- It had some good yuri moments. Re:Creators- I originally dropped it after hating Selesia in the first ep, but promised my friend I'd watch it post first season. Ultimately ended up regretting the fact as... To kindly ignore direct details unless someone wants to ask... ~~Magane's shift in role felt way too out of character and Altair swiftly became my least favorite character in any medium during the final fight.~~ Sakurada Reset- I once brought up this show to my friend, who explained exactly why it felt... just not that great. I enjoyed the show for awhile and liked its direction, but something always felt off. It's a show that regards combining very limited superpowers to achieve a greater goal. It grew less interesting when it no longer felt like the powers were random, but each created by the writer himself to ensure he could come to a close somewhere along the line. It'd be more interesting if he had no control over what powers he could control. Konbini Kurashi- I still will call this the low budget romance. It's a romance story that proposes it's supposed to be about 6 couples, but proceeds to take all 12 episodes to make the main couple an actual thing, focuses on a second one, dedicates an episode to show that one exists, and introduces the characters and shows a little interest in two more of them. Notice how I'm only at 5 so far? Yeah, the 6th couple was never actually introduced. Love and Lies- I literally didn't feel like dropping this show, despite how bad it really was.
