that's because kids don't use message boards. they just text on their phone or use facebook or twitter or instragram. we aren't getting new blood and it's just an aging population. gamefaqs is like Japan. someday this place will be just a bunch of elderly posters

Maybe SBAllen should do some catchy marketing to the younger audience to breathe some new life into our boards.

Yeah, we really need new life on our boards because I don't see this being sustainable long-term. Another major issue focuses on our contributor scene, especially the people who write FAQs for this site. Considering that our current FAQ writers are a subset of our current userbase (the group of people that vote in the polls), the average age of our FAQ writers should be increasing at the same rate as our entire userbase as a whole. This is a bad thing for the long-term survival of GameFAQs since you can't count on our current group of FAQ writers to still be writing FAQs in 10 years or 20 years from now. At some point in the future, some of our current FAQ writers will call it quits when it comes to writing FAQs. Thus, there is a high demand to bring in younger people to fill in the void of older writers who will eventually quit writing FAQs. GameFAQs receives a lot of its traffic from the FAQs hosted on the site and you need contributors to step in and provide those FAQs, so anything that would lead to a decline in the number of contributors is a bad thing. This would primarily hurt the less popular games, since the most popular games are going to end up being more heavily prioritized when it comes to our contributors writing FAQs for those games. Thus, less popular games would take longer than usual to receive an FAQ.
