which is an abnormal heartbeat. she's been completely healthy up to this point, so for the first time this pregnancy, i'm kinda terrified, but keeping to together so i don't cause my wife any unneeded stress.

it freaked us out when we were watching her heartbeat on the monitor, because it's there, clear as day. every 10th or 15th beat, it wouldn't beat all the way. we went to two different specialists, and all they can do is wait and see what happens.

the good news is that most premature atrial contractions apparently correct themselves before or after birth, so fingers crossed, ok?

My youngest had a slight one as well. It is a little scary when told the news but the doctor told us this as well. My brother is a pediatrician and I asked him about it as well, and he said the same. They have to say something just in case it doesn't correct itself but more often than not it does. My son was fine after being born.

i'm really hoping that's the case, and it's more a matter of the doctors covering their ass in case the slight chance of something bad happening. the more i've been reading suggests that too.

glad your kid was fine, though! that makes me feel better about this...

Hopefully things will work out man as that sucks. It's not from inherited genetic conditions is it?

not fun to hear, sorry Ziggi.

I also had fetal arrhythmia, and I'm still kicking. Usually works out OK.

stay strong dood.

Is this going to be one of those times when you pretend not to have a plan until the last moment? And then turn out to really not have one?

small update, not much has changed, but the abnormal beats are becoming less frequent. they're definitely still there, but come every 20th beat or so. not a huge improvement, but i'll take it!
