I'm in the UK. The freeview TVs dont have 4k and for sky, we need to pay extra for HD channels. And they dont have that many.
So if i own one of these 4K TVs, where can i view 4k content? Is netflix the only place to watch 4k movies and series? --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

UHD Blu Rays or on Vudu, Flixster, and Google Play.
And starting this Friday, iTunes in joining in with totally free UHD upgrades. Which is an absolute game changer because they cost $30 to buy or upgrade right now. --- It all just disappears, doesn't it? DirecTV offers 4k but pretty sure that's USA only

Amazon Video has it as well. Youtube has 4K content as well, and HDR content is slowly making its way to Youtube as well. Regular TV broadcasting won't have it for ages if ever.

Okay so once i buy apple TV 4k box thing. Will i still need to pay to watch individual movies and TV shows or is the apple TV thing work on a subscription payment plan?

Yes, you will have to pay for each movie. Whether a purchase or rental. So unless you're paying, it's pointless. Benefit with Google Play and Vudu is that you get tons of $.99 cent/$.10 rental offers every month or so.
