Its been a long time since I've been able to have alcohol and I'm just reminiscing about that feeling.

You are lying there in your bed and the world keeps spinning. You lie there trying to fall asleep but you know you can't so you get up and go to the bathroom. You lean over the toilet and prepare yourself, you breath in for a second and then just let it all flow out. Its not like throwing up from when you are sick or when you are trying to get rid of food you just ate its just a clean stream of liquid. It doesn't burn, it doesn't stick, it just leaves your body as easily as it went in.

And then its over and you get this amazing feeling of relief. Your stomach no longer feels bloated, your head is no longer spinning and you return back to that blissful drunkeness where you don't really care about anything. You drink a glass of cold water from the sink and smile knowing that you are going to lay down and immediately fall asleep. No racing thoughts, no anxiety over the past, the present or your future ,just a few minutes of numbness and then a dreamless sleep.

To miss the days when you'd be out drinking all night and having a good time to the extent you'd probably throw up, that I can understand but to miss the moment when you stop feeling really crap and just feel kinda crappy is a little odd tbh.

you throw up on your floor but you're too drunk to clean it up. so you lay in bed, staring sideways at the spinning puke floor until you pass out. you wake up 5 hours later and you still feel sick. you go to the toilet and take a pure liquid shit. you return to your vomit room and shamefully wipe up last night's mess. you take out the puke bag and the empty bottles on your way to the pharmacy to grab some febreeze. you feel sick all day. you can never stomach dry apple cider again.

I miss doing dumb stuff too. Like eating insects, burning off tatoos, drinking weird stuff. Id do that stuff sober anyway but people expect you to be drunk.

I remember I once shaved my beard so I had a hulk hogan thing going on. It looked completely ridiculous. Then we went around town and my friends would just give me stuff to say. Id be in some character and just start talking to people.

idk in a way i can kinda feel it.

i mean it's still shitty, but to feel all that toxic shit purge from your body instantly is kinda nice and relieving. kinda like scratching a mosquito bite or taking a big dump, but more extreme.

not really worth it tho.

Memories of OE Reserves and cheap plastic bottle vodka. Also bad timing with tequila.

No real regrets and not missed. Just the learning curve for responsible drinking.

what we are missing is having consequences from drinking way too much, it becomes the norm and is nothing to bat an eyelash at.... first couple of times i drank was burobon/aftershock/vodka in no order at anytime, wish i had died that night. now i can polish off a 16 pack and drive home just fine =D

I only tried to not throw up if I was indoors, if i'm outdoors though I never try to hold it back as it will just make me feel worse.

when i was like 14 or so i sat UNDER a picnic table for about 3 hours until the world stopped spinning and i could resume drinking until i puked like a normal child =D

i've very rarely got the "world spinning" thing, but i've always been the type to prefer a moderate buzz than full on FUBAR. I don't like not being able to walk or see straight. I have gotten there a few times though thanks to parties, as at them I don't quit drinking until I run out, or I pass out. fortunately I don't do that anymore

Reminds me of a time I got absolutely trashed at a party. Everyone was ready to pass out and I was lying on my back on the couch, and suddenly I threw up like a fountain straight up and onto my chest. When I was done I just looked over at someone and said in my drunkard voice, "I feel a lot better now".

I don't drink that much anymore.
