In the edited version the text reads "all humans are created equal" and "Goverments are instituted under humans"..The teacher replaced "men" on both instances. That decision outraged Green Witch Elizabeth Vaillancourt whose young son was in the class at Salk Elementary. She took to FB to voice her anger at the actions and said "Zev's teacher had this hanging in the classroom can anyone guess what's wrong with this picture" Elizabeth and other parents were outraged and demand the teacher be FIRED and want President Trump to INTERVENE to have her fired!! One woman wrote "I'm sooooo pissed about this whole situation!! She needs her teacher cert revoked" Another said "How are these idiots teaching children today. Frie the teacher" But 20 comments DEFENDED the teacher writing "Nothing is wrong with it. We are humans. stop making a fool of yourself" Elizabeth then went to the media and said "Indoctrination is happening at Salk Elementary. Liberals are trying to change what good this country has left. It should say Men and i as a woman don't have a problem with that because it was Men who founded America and gave us this great nation. This is not up for debate i am trying to raise awareness doing for those of you who did not get that far what she is donig is indoctrination you may be alright with her doing this but it is against board and scool policy" Then Elizabeth said she took her son out of the classroom because she no longer trusts FEMALE TEACHERS and said "I beg all of you for future generations to remain free, please be ware what is actually occurring in our schools. Donald Trump SAVE US". The school said that they provided feedback and guidance to the teacher to restore the document to its originial format and the district does not allow teachers to share their political views with students. Man and mankind are already synonyms of humans or humanity. Changing the wording in this way changes nothing about the intent of the Declaration. However it does remove it from the historical context and denies the progress the country has made in extending rights to all citizens. Further this particular edit panders to the compelled speech movement that is growing in modern times.
