for me, obviously. i lived in korea. i had to learn or starve (or embarrassingly ask for a fork in korean)

i knew how to use them since i was a kid, but i still dont think im using them properly, like sometimes i really need to use a fork because i cant pick them up with chopsticks, like if i mess up the sushi, like cut them in half, then theyre all ruined, i need a fork to pick them up the dip it on the sauce.

lol I'm half Chinese and often go to China and other Asian countries to visit relatives.
I can't use chopsticks.

I'm great at using chopsticks because of all the Americanized sushi I eat all the time.

You won't however see me using chopsticks on things like rice or to pick apart lobster

I can pick up large items. still stumble sometimes. I can eat sticky rice but it takes a while and sometimes I just say fuck it and get a fork.

you say that because you don't have the dexterity required to wield chopsticks effectively

chopsticks are more versatile than forks will ever be but they have a learning curve
