I could make the same style of argument's about Inter-Dimensional cable by putting them in the frame of reference they're parodying. Oh, a plumbus how random! Except it's a parody of infomercials that exploit the human need for familiarity to a product to drive sales, wherein the authenticity of the product is "proven" above the competitors by proving the means of production use "tried and true" traditions and methods. Except when it's a made up funny looking pink thing like a plumbus, you realize through the absurdity that the whole pitch is irrational, irrelevant, and exploitative as soon as you don't have the expectations that the target audience does. By removing the realism of the product, the criticism of the pitch itself becomes clear. That's the joke. Only a few of the interdimensional cable skits could realistically be called "truly random", like Personal Space. The rest are parodies or criticisms of actual television and media.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily fromNarodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. This really causes me extreme chagrin, quite immensely indeed, when some wise guy posts some obviously satirical copypasta and can't help but "cringe" at it.
