I message like 20 girls, normally I like commenting on something from their profile, but i get no response.

Then I send something like "you sound emotionally stunted" I thought would also get ignored, but instead I get this long winded paragraph of butthurt.

This makes no sense.

I imagine 90% of the time messages are unread/deleted based solely on the photo included next to the email. My advice is spring for a professional photographer to take some photographs showing you in your best light.

I always let women make the first move. Even then, most of them only put "hey, how are you?" even though they're the types to say "say something other than "hey, how are you"!". The strangest thing is when they go out of their way to start conversation with you and then make zero effort in it. Everyone turns it on the dudes and say it must be your fault for being boring, but a lot of women are incredibly boring as well (no hobbies, no sense of humor, literally don't do anything but watch TV and be on their phone). If the conversation is going nowhere with a chick and she's barely, if at all, giving you responses, just accept the loss and move on, you're not meant for everyone. Eventually you do find a few really cool women who are interesting and you click with them naturally.

I also just go with the flow of the conversation. If the chick makes short responses, I do too. If she's typing detailed responses, I have no problem whipping out the paragraphs, too.

Some guys in real life already put pussy on a pedestal so some gals think they are some kind of hot shit. It's even more the case when it comes to the internet. That's why it seems a lot of guys have to do a lot of chasing for even a average gal on the internet. Even then it probably will be futile.

tbh, when I rather jokingly referred to publishing as a dying industry to a reporter on POF (something along the lines of, "So... what convinced you to jump on that sinking ship? =p"), she cursed me out and blocked me so I can't imagine that strategy would work =p

And, in general, I know that dating sites do have their successes and I know people who have married great men/women using them, but I don't really recommend them for serious relationships anyway. Half the profiles feature spelling and grammar so atrocious that I wonder if English isn't their first language. And, while in theory it should lead to better-targeted matches, the girls with common interests I've met through POF in particular have generally been less compatible than women whose phone numbers I got while standing next to them in line at a shop.

The bigger issue is just the numbers game. You might send one or two messages, but even moderately attractive girls likely get hundreds of messages during the same day -- partly because guys will send multiples, but mostly because a lot of guys will swing at every pitch.

Ha, she must have been new in the industry, or particularly self conscious. Because most of us joke about that ourselves anyways.

Dating sites have an extremely lopsided m:f ratio. If you're a guy, the best you can do is go for having sex with ugly chicks. If you're a girl, you have to weed through the waves of horny douchebags who will most likely cheat on you.
