I just got a ps4 and have mainly been playing kh1.5+2.5. I didn't really notice much of a difference or anything out of the ordinary.

But once I started playing bloodborne, holy smokes. I could instantly tell the frame rate was different. Maybe because I've played dark souls 3 on pc with a high frame rate, but I could tell the game ran at 30 frames or less.

It's crazy to me because I've never been one to consider myself a graphics whore, nor have I really been able to decipher between frame rates very well.

BB runs particularly crappy, something to do with cpu heavy performance that isn't even improved on the Pro

60 FPS makes a massive difference over 30.

Compare gameplay videos of Destiny 2, Ghost Recon Wildlands, and Prey 2017.

I don't do any really heavy gaming on my PC, but while playing Sonic Mania I did instantly notice the 60FPS difference when playing the Blue Sphere special stage. The whole thing is beautiful now.

I don't mind low FPS, as long as it's consistent. An FPS that fluctuates between 29 to 31 is much prefered over one that fluctuates from 45 to 60 in my opinion.

Same goes for ping. I normally have 120~ ping, which is fine, though I wish it was better. However, sometimes I have as low as 70 ping in games, but it often jumps up to 100 and that always frustrates me.

Oh, I'm enjoying the hell out of this game. I love the souls games.

The thing is that I've played BB at my brother's house before and never really noticed frame issues. This was before I built my desktop though

Jumping between 60fps and 30fps can be a bit jarring for me at first too, but I usually get used to it after a while if the frame rate's consistent.

To be fair, I wouldn't even call that being a graphics whore. Smooth frame rates are directly proportional to gameplay experience in many cases, as opposed to graphics specifically. I agree with you, it's quite noticeable.

this as long as it doesn't look super choppy, i'm happy as long as its consistent.

i actually dropped the game for a while because it is one of my early ps4 games, bloodborne's fps was godawful

i beat sleeping dogs and tomb radier with 15-18 fps on pc, because my computer wasn't powerfull enough to run it. nothing wrong with low fps as long as it's constant. i can't stand playing 60 fps and it droping to 50 fps. i rather have a constant 30 fps.

If you're gonna have a dedicated gaming machine, it should do its job better than a generalist machine. Otherwise what's the point?

Shooters, RPGs, and strategy games are for PC

Fighting games, Sports games, and exclusives for console.

Madden or Smash Bros on PC isnt a thing just like Starcraft on 64 was silly

I used to notice it quite a bit with the Batman Arkham games. I had no problem playing with a controller over a keyboard and mouse, but the difference between 30 FPS and 60 FPS made it really difficult to perfectly time counters and attacks.

"excusives" isn't really a genre.

Add platformers to the console, or at least that you should use a console controller.

And RPGs don't really matter which, unless its Elder Scrolls. In which case you want PC because its first person, and because you can mod it there. Those with RTS style control themes (click where you want to move) are probably better on the PC as well.

Well, probably because that generalist machine is built better

If people will buy the amazing looking 30 FPS games what is the point of going full 60 FPS? Computers can achieve the latter easier than consoles. Don't get me wrong though, I have a feeling consoles ill inevitably get 60 FPS game in the future.

I agree with what someone else said earlier. As long as framerate is at least consistent, I can handle lower framerates, and would prefer a 100% consistent 20 or 30 fps to a 60fps that jumps down to 40fps once every couple seconds.

Honestly, I think the people who harp about how their PC machines and their 60+ FPS setups are actually like that really, whether they know it or not. They are able to either run at a capped 60FPS without drops, or they are running at high enough FPS where they can't notice that it varies because their eyes are unable to detect it, or their monitor can't display it fast enough to make anything noticeable anyway.

Dont bother trying to go back to DS3 on PS4 after playing on PC. Trust me, it's a bad downgrade.
