...what evolution has been capable of creating? Of course this is assuming that you believe evolution has occurred. You've heard of irreducible complexity haven't you? It basically states that the human eye is too complex to have arisen through evolution it must have been designed by a creator or what not. So that got me wondering, has the human mind ever created something more complex than the human eye or the human immune system etc? And the most complex things in nature etc?

Evolution isn't so much a matter of complexity as it is an incredible amount of simplicity. It's a very incremental process over a tremendous length of time. The closest human analog might be technology, which has also continually evolved. In a way, humanity has been doing with technology *exactly* what nature has done with evolution.

evolution is just a design process. it leads to designs in a sort of automatic way, but the designs it leads to are not necessarily optimal. intelligently designed systems are usually a lot better, because they can identify important problems early and avoid them.

you mention eyes, but human eyes are wired *backwards* and evolution just worked around the problem in a ridiculous way. similarly, there is a nerve that loops from the neck, down around the heart, and back up. this wasn't a problem when hearts were in the neck, but it sure is now. in giraffes this is especially ridiculous.

as for complexity, the human brain is arguably the most "complex" thing known in the universe, and no, we haven't really made anything that complex, yet.

That's a stupid argument.

Yeah, quantum physics is pretty complex. Mathematics is pretty complex. Artifical Intelligence is pretty complex. We also create vast infrastructures with (sometimes) millions of moving parts that sort of put the human body to shame.

I think it depends on what you're willing to consider 'one thing'. I think the whole of the internet top to bottom is probably more complicated than one human brain. The eye I think is easier, a decent amount of our technology is more complicated than an eye.

yeah I do find that to be stupid, I argue against that line of thought with, if god is supposed to be perfect then why did he design us with so many flaws?

he doesn't seem to want to talk about the topic either, it's just an attempt at manufacturing an argument or something
