Alex Smith wouldn't have got them to the Super Bowl, not that he's a bad QB or anything.

He's bad. People, 4 games to start this year does not negate a career of mediocrity.

most teams would kill for a mediocre quarterback

he's a game manager and he doesn't lose games

that's a valuable resource

Now this is a good point. A great coach, but possibly the worst clock manager of all time.

He's not back up caliber that's ridiculous. He isn't the most exciting QB but he has talent and doesn't suck.

His career high passing TDs is 23... he threw for 15 in 15 games last year! Career high yards is 3500... any QB off the streets can do that. He has a high comp percentage and low int rate because he's so noodle armed all he does is dump off to backs and the tight end.

He's basically a more efficient Matt Cassel.

Once Mahomes is ready you will see what this team can really do with a starting caliber QB and not one that needs training wheels. He's being carried by the Chiefs, not making them better.

I'm not saying he's a worldbeater or anything but to claim he's garbage just isn't accurate. List every starting QB in the league and a lot would love to have him in place of who they got now. He doesn't force the ball and makes good decisions. He has a weak arm and isn't top tier by any stretch of the imagination but he isn't garbage.

No they wouldn't have. Dude literally choked against the Giants and never would have been able to go through Green Bay/Atlanta/Baltimore.

How many teams would take him over who they have now that are also in a position to win now?

Like maybe Houston (they did want Watson to sit, that's the only argument) and Denver, but outside of that teams either have their QB or are rebuilding and a 33-year old doesn't help that.

The Browns and 49ers (lol) and possibly Jaguars are probably the only teams that would want him. He's bottom tier starter, replacement level and on par or slightly better than most teams backups.

I mean the niners had already beat green bay once and that's the game everyone credits Kaep with really winning.

I think Smith could have won. I definitely think he beats the ravens. What people seem to forget is that team was stacked. They didn't need Kaep or Alex balling out. They had a rock solid team at basically every position.

Choked against the Giants? You mean won the game if someone could catch a punt?

He's looked good since 2011 and has proven time and again that he can ball out when needed.
