I enjoyed the movie when I saw it a few days ago, and the theater was packed despite it being three weeks old. I want to see if the TV series is as good.

I saw it when I was a kid. I remember the following things from it:
- A guy committing suicide so he doesn't need to confront It again
- Tim Curry laughing obnoxiously in a library to annoy one of the adults
- Oh yes, they float
- A hilarious rubber spider monster
- A photograph of a kid winking

It's amazing how much less crazy the miniseries is. The scene in the bathroom where Bev sees blood explode from a balloon is so much more restrained than the version in the movie.

IT seems really bad at actually killing kids. It has multiple opportunities when it has them alone and they don't even really escape, they just get let go.

Well I mean we can't really judge yet because we haven't seen the adult actors for the Losers at all yet. Granted, it would be hard to be worse than some of these performances.

But John Ritter is always a plus too. I also liked Richie's portrayal in the original, though I mean it's hard to stand up to Finn Wolfhard's performance in the new one. But Seth Green/Harry Anderson did a good job too.

I meant the original TV miniseries. Mike knows that all of his friends are coming and instantly recognizes Bill despite having five white friends that age and not having seen any of them in almost thirty years.

i dunno, i think that's one of the scariest parts of the mini-series. but yeah the stop-motion of Pennywise going down the drain did not age well.

Finished the series. It was way sillier than I expected. Tim Curry was the best part, of course. It honestly wasn't that great, but it's definitely okay. I suppose it's slightly worse than the movie, but I could see liking this more.

i love the nostalgia critic's joke about IT just quietly leaving in the shower scene.

one of the things that stood out to me is that they left out all of the crazy shit that happens in the finale of the book. apparently they will include it in IT: chapter two, though.

and yeah, i'm pretty sure that when i rented this on DVD it was presented as one movie, not a miniseries with several episodes.

The adult part of the miniseries was weak because of bad acting and lame evil clowning. There's just nothing scary about balloons.
