The reason I ask is, the trailer is affordable and because its all I can afford for a basic job that I have

or Man up, Save up, Sell a kidney to own a house?

or..... continue paying rent in the apartment?

Are we talking like a modular home?

I know that's my plan. It's actually cheaper for me to get a mortgage for a small bit of land and a modular home than to pay rent.

I mean, you can make them pretty nice if you want. I've lived in them for most of my life.

I'm living in a trailer right now for college and the worst part is when storms rear up. I always go somewhere else.

That and it's hard as shit to keep it cooled or heated depending on the time of year. Power bill can get ridiculous

I first grew up in a basement apartment. We later moved and rented a house. and now for the last 22 years we've been in a trailer which never had a functioning furnace, add-on bedroom had a poorly constructed roof, and over time the kitchen floor has torn up and other floors are falling apart and sinking. Our septic field needs work too.

What I'm getting at is it can be affordable yes, but check everything before you do so. Structure, plumbing, heating, etc. Sure not every trailer home is like this but be cautious. I've seen some great ones on the market (sadly only in retirement areas).

I'd give anything to be in a house again.
