I don't recall the prices but back in the 80s and early 90s you'd have many VHS of kids shows with 1 or 2 episodes per tape.

there was 4 hour tapes but they used 45 min tapes

Looked up the old FHE tapes. I usually rented Transformers episodes as a kid. Typically 1 episode per tape unless it was a multi-part episode. They were $24.95 each.

25 dollars for a single half hour episode is insane. as a kid I had a tape with maybe 2 episodes of TMNT on it. but I have no idea how much it cost.

I had multiple Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh tapes that only had 3 episodes on them. Then they started having 4 episodes and I thought that was special.
