The only thing I do it for is laptop batteries because those things are pretty much useless by the time the warranty for them is over. Better to just replace them instead of having a laptop that can only last 30 minutes on a charge.

I got one for my new monitor. They told me they will replace it for any issues--including user damage. For the full value for 2 years after purchase. So when my cat knocks the monitor over in 23 months, I would get a brand new OLED screen or whatever is out there for the $350 price point.

especially bad when people have tried getting me to pay for something like that on videogames. the disc is either in my system, the case, or being transferred to one of those. it won't get messed up. --- Kill From The Shadows. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idiot ... Copied to Clipboard!

No, there's only rare situations where I would
1. The extended warranty has a very long term. If the extended warranty is like an extra 10 years, I might do it 2. The item is used or refurbished. Situations where the non-extended warranty might not replace the item. 3. I'm in a situation where I'm relatively certain the item is gunna get wrecked. --- "Salt cures Everything!" Depends on the item or if they are willing to throw it in cheap but in most cases that warranty isn;t actually with the manufacturer, just some sketchy 3rd party/the store themselves or you can buy it later if you need to make a claim so not usually, no.
