And last I checked I don't know any of those people. Was pretty clearly talking anecdotally and not about elected officials.

Stop being deliberately obtuse and go jerk off to Marx or something.

Clinton and Sanders agreed on almost every issue.

Blind idealism gets people killed if you're too stubborn to be pragmatic when needed.

One was going to be elected. That wasn't up for debate. If you're too stupid to vote for the CLEARLY better one that's on you

wait, are you suggesting that Clinton was the better option?

because... lol

Between Clinton and Trump? The two people I'm talking about? Yeah?

you clearly said "Clinton and Sanders" at the start of your post >_>

Yeah. And then I was clearly talking about the general election when I said that blind idealism refusing to vote for Clinton gets people killed with someone like Trump in office. And that one of Clinton or Trump was going to be elected, there was no other option.

But I voted for Clinton? I didn't like it, but I was under no illusions that she'd be worse than....THIS

I hope you understand why I'm far more concerned with those who have power than the liberals you personally know.

Then good job! You're not one of the idiots. Thanks for acting pragmatically for the best result.

Sure. But I wasn't talking about them. "Liberals" is a far larger and more nebulous group than the relatively small amount of Democrats in office or making policy.

So saying "liberals" support private healthcare is just stupid.

http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2017/06/23/public-support-for-single-payer-health-coverage-grows-driven-by-democrats/
Nearly two-thirds of liberal Democrats (64%) now support a single-payer health insurance system, up 13 percentage points since January.

muh liberal centrist boogeymanz

And again, as in my earlier point, pretty much every other country with UHC/SP is a capitalist country, not a "leftist" socialist country.

It was Labor parties, openly socialist parties that resulted in this, though. A country can have leftist policies without seizing the means of production.

Say those without the imagination to solve our country's problems.
A big part of WHY Trump won is that he was entirely correct when he said America isn't good for most people. The lower and middle classes, particularly inner cities and rural areas, have been left behind for decades.
Trump's solutions, of course, are odious and will/are making things worse, but Hillary Clinton never seemed to recognize how messed up the status quo is, in large part because she was one of the people who helped craft it.

American Liberals who are tired of the constant embarrassment caused by lunacy on their side have started making this distinction. In the US, they're interchangeable.

It's usually the opposite. "Leftists" correct people for calling them "liberals".

I consider liberals leftist, progressives more leftist.

in Europe liberal means more classical liberals/libertarianism.
in US liberals means more modern social liberalism.
