On that note what are incendiary grenades even good for? Hand grenades are the ones that kill a crowd of enemies instantly and save me a lot of bullets. But incendiary grenades don't even burn the enemies to death why? I can't slash them all with a knife once they're down, only a couple.

Uhh all grenades are good for crowd control. This game is so fucking easy why are you acting like this is Dark Souls or something.

It's not that easy, and it gets absolutely brutal on challenge runs.

If you move your cross hairs (on the Wii version, don't know about the others) they will highlight red even if you cannot see the trap yourself. Then you can shoot it and presto you're safe. But I didn't know what console you were playing it on.

That's what I've been doing too! Very useful, but with how worried I am of a zombie jumping out of every corner I forgot to check the ground beforehand and both me and Ashley succumbed to a damn bear trap at one point or another.

And damn did I mention they barred up like every passage in the village? I can't even go back. And all the chickens in the farm are gone... no more eggs.

Thankfully a chopper is being sent by Hunington to rescue us.

One of my favorite games of all time. Rarely do I go back and replay games but that one I've gone back to a number of times on different consoles. I'm happy for you that you are able to play it with minimal spoilers. Keep posting your commentary, it brings back memories.

Trapped inside a house with Ashley and Luis. Zombies everywhere. Just securing the perimeter, was wondering where the hell Ashley is but she's hiding in a locked wardrobe that seems impervious to damage, very good.

Got some incendiary grenades and flash grenades lying around. Accidentally shot Luis though, now I even gotta watch out for him. Still dude is pretty useful, he chucked some handgun ammo at me.

There's no end in site with the mob though, is this where we make our last stand.

Phew! Holy crap that felt like forever, probably the hardest and definitely most frantic part of the game for me.

Oh my god you son of a bitch! @ that user who told me to shoot the fish in the lake. I was all excited to get some more fishies to eat for my health so I started carefully aiming and trying to pick them off when I just got eaten by a giant hideous zombie parasitic fish thing!

My heart near jumped into my throat and made me choke! I couldn't even dodge or anything

Just make sure you don't shoot him too many times. ;-)

Which path should I choose, left or right?

Depends. Overall I think the left path is easier to keep Ashley safe, but harder for you as far as amount of enemies. The right path has less enemies but is harder to keep Ashley out of danger.

Gonna do both, might as well get more items, this game is teaching me to hoard because there's always a big boss lying in wait at every room. Saving my ammos and bombs for them.

Holy shit two female chainsaw freaks! I was like "climb climb climb son of a bitch climb Leon!"

Went up the ladder and knocked it down to buy me some time. Thank GOD I told Ashley to hide in the dumpster.

My favorite tactic is to climb a ladder, wait for them to follow me, and then slice them as they're climbing so they fall back down. It takes forever but it's tried and true.

Phew finally a reprieve! I'm so glad for those. It's just so safe and away from the danger.

Found the door to the exit out of the village! I'm so close to the end! Just need something to get the door to open. Need to find the key.

On some kind of... lift, enemies waiting for me at every turn. This seems ominous.

Oh my god I'm fighting him, the big cheese !

That was terrifying. What the hell are these monsters! And even after I thought I killed him dude was still moving around hanging from the rafters! After taking his eye I was knifing him just to be double extra sure he's dead.

At least now I can pop that eye in the stone gate and get the hell out of this place.

I just killed him and I still have no idea who was that guy? I'm guessing he's like a general for that guy in the robe in the church where we rescued Ashley.

Bad news you guys. Not only was the helicopter sent to rescue us shot down, but the entire village came chasing after me and Ashley. We just took refuge in a... castle? Holy cow that's so cool, I thought this game was over but it seems far from it.

To think, just on the other side of that drawbridge is a whole mob of enemies waiting to tear us limb from limb. I hope we don't have to deal with those villagers anymore, they're the worst. Especially those chainsaw freaks.

The castle part. Uh oh. Be prepared for one of the most annoying parts involving Ashley.

Hope you fare(fair?) better than I did the first time ;)

FFFFFFFFFF. Goddamn this. These new robbed enemies. They're chucking fireballs at me and Ashley has died a couple of times. I'm too nervous to even look around where they are because they always seem to hit me instantly.

Went back to buy a rifle from that dude. Rate my setup you guys:

Red9 with the stock (so cool that you can combine weapons in this game) because people keep saying it's the best one.

Shotgun

And now semi auto rifle.

For a shotgun I prefer the Riot Gun. Otherwise good choices. Now that you are in the castle you'll be close to a free magnum revolver.

If you are comfortable with that, then it's fine. You have guns to cover all ranges.

If you find yourself struggling with keeping ammo, I highly recommend the TMP and more knife usage

Thanks man! I was wondering about that weapon. It looks super powerful but if I don't need to buy it that's even better news!

Yeah thats bound to happen a few times. It gets better though.

It can be annoying to keep shuffling around your inventory, but I found it a fun system to organize my inventory. Depending on how you are doing you can potentially sell of a couple grenades or spare ammo.

If you watched the cutscene (I missed it the first time too) his eyes are sown shut. He attacks by sound. So walk slow don't run. And you can shoot the bells and he will attack them. You can also leave Ashley at the top of the stairs before you go down to fight The Prisoner (as I call them) so she won't be in danger.

My son has been watching youtube videos of someone playing through Ada's Separate Ways with all Garradors. I watched a bit and when that's all there is or a large amount of them like in the castle stage in Mercenaries, being quite/slow around them just doesn't work. I have even a hard time thinking that I can walk around/by them without them noticing when you have that room where there is two of them in there

Yes of course, he's blind! It reacts to sound! I just tried hitting the bell and he gets his claws stuck in the wall and there's a parasite thing on his back! A couple of shotgun blasts took care of him. Now ready to move on, I feel ready for anything they throw at me!
