yes Vivi / Locke / Doomtrain / Cecil made top 5 too, but it's no sure thing for them to ever make it there - and 2/4 of them are already eliminated.

Cecil and Vivi are also strong characters but even they aren't assured top 20 placements. Lightning has literally never been out of the top 20, and only once out of the top 10. Nobody else has a strong a base of support as her, that's just a huuuge fact and it isn't even close to a question.

Lightning has 2 major advantages in the contest: A gigantic pool of #1 Priority players, and when it comes to late game everybody wants to face Lightning in the finals because tends to be the easiest win.

The only thing I was getting at with my initial comment was that the early death of Serah might signify that Lightning's support base isn't quite so strong this year. I figured it might lead to some discussion, like when people wondered about Bravely Default's strength after the boots.

I don't think Lightning has some holy right to a top ten showing every year or whatever people accused me of earlier
