Never saw the original one. Will I "get" Blade Runner 2049?

You're doing yourself a disservice by not watching the original

From what I heard in reviews, it stands on it's own film and you don't really need to have seen the first one at all.

It's still recommended though as apparently Act 2 or Act 3 works as an epilogue to Blade Runner.

If you do watch the original, watch the final cut version, not the theatrical.

I doubt you'll need to, it's bad business to not explain the big plot points in a sequel 30 years later. But you'll also probably miss a lot of homages to the original and some of the depth.

80s movies aren't that old and usually don't feel too outdated. So you don't watch the Rocky movies or other classics because they're "too old"?

Yeah, the Final Cut still looks stunning and becomes even more amazing when you realize those are from the pre-CGI era and what you're seeing are practical effects.

This film is solely responsible for our modern imagination of the dystopian future and largely created the genre aesthetic of cyberpunk.

Oh. Yea, I never saw the older Star Wars completely; only Star Wars 7 and Rogue One. Tried watching Star Wars 4 at the advice of a friend (vs watching Star Wars 1), but fell asleep watching it, so never bothered to watch the other ones.

Blade Runner came out before I was born, and I had never seen it until today, a few hours before watching the sequel. It holds up quite well from a technical standpoint, honestly. The only really dating thing is some of the costume choices.
Watching 2049 first would have made some parts of the original a lot less interesting.

I liked it. Seemed a little too long and draggy, but was pretty good. Thought it had too much unnecessary naked moments, and didn't much liked the ending.

It is better, it is not too long, it is not too draggy and it doesnt have too much unnecessary naked moments.
