http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/news/colin-kaepernick-national-anthem-stand-kneeling-protest-49ers-nfl/geu2gjion3at1et3ln1v20ujg

An interesting report about Colin Kaepernick from CBS NFL insider Jason La Canfora on Sunday's "The NFL Today": Kaepernick confirmed he will stand for the national anthem if an NFL team signs him this season.

La Canfora did not provide video or audio of his interview with Kaepernick, but the reporter shared his finding with CBS' James Brown on Sunday.

Said La Canfora on Kaepernick: "Hes not planning on kneeling. He's going to donate all his jersey sales. Hes planning on standing for the anthem if given the opportunity."

Some other details shared by La Canfora:

Kaepernick is working out religiously in the New York-area. He gets up at 4 a.m. ET to throw 100-plus passes a day at an undisclosed field in New Jersey, then returns to New York City to work out at the gym.

Kaepernick doesn't want to go on camera because he thinks he would be labeled a "distraction" by NFL GMs looking for quarterbacks. His agent continues to talk with various clubs to try to get him back on an NFL field this season.

Kaepernick pleased and proud that other NFL players and athletes have joined his protest against racial injustice. But Kaepernick has not been involved in the talks between players and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

This.

I thought Kaepernick's form of protest was a bit strange, but I supported his right to do it, and I'm glad it sparked a larger discussion.

Seeing him be so spineless as to completely give up on that is pathetic.

1) Old news(he's already said this a long time ago)
2) No matter what he does, he's still a media distraction, and will remain so until he is physically incapable of playing football.
3) Is he really abandoning his stance because he wants a job? Smh. If you were ever serious about the issues you preached about so strongly on your previous job, don't get another NFL job at all and be a martyr for your cause.

I can kinda get why he would say this. He wants to play football and knows that the kneeling is considered to be a media distraction by NFL teams. I can't blame the guy for giving up on his protest to possibly get another chance to be signed by a team.

The original reason he was sitting on the bench during the anthem was because he was throwing a fit about not playing. It was no protest. It was nothing but him being a baby. Media ran with their story and he joined along.

Two things.

One. He said that he wouldn't kneel if he was signed months ago.

Two. he did not say that he specifically would not kneel in order TO get signed. There is a difference.

Correct. And boy was that a fun time here. Before that it was if you dont vote then you really dont matter and whatever you say doesnt matter. But then when it came out that he didnt vote everyone changed their mind and said it doesnt matter that he didnt vote and we should still listen to what he says.

Boy is this place fun.

Not voting makes perfect sense. Not voting means politicians have to listen to you and try to gain your vote. Voting when you don't want to makes your vote not matter as they know they got you no matter what.

Kaep saw that neither candidate was good and like an intelligent person, didn't willingly try to choose a 'lesser of two evils'.

LOL, that was a good one.

Actually, not voting means politicians ignore you. For all the pandering the Democrats did to BLM, including that night at the DNC when they rolled out the criminal moms panel and pretended like Mike Brown and Freddie Gray were victims of unfair brutality, those folks didn't show up on election day. The Democrats couldn't have dropped them any faster, which is why BLM is completely dead now outside of a few lingering racists and supremacists.

I doubt the kneeling thing would stop him from getting on a team unless it was like the straw that broke the camels back. If someone was good at football, pretty sure the coach or sponsors wouldn't care about a protest like that. I don't know anything about football, but I'm going to take a shot in the dark here and guess that he was not that great of a player? Can someone confirm or deny this for me?

He is better than some of the back up QBs teams are currently signing.

yeah, and the point of a backup QB is to sit there, hold a clipboard, and not make anykind of distractions while being able to smoothly come in and run the starting offense in the case of an emergency.

Kaep cant do that while also being a gigantic distraction. Jesus christ people
