If a white person says anything about someone based off race or ethnicity, they get branded as a racist without even using a slur or even being judgemental.

For example, people used the word "thug" to describe criminals in the inner city. They never used the n word or black or any ethnicity they might have been. Yet it didn't take long for whiny people to say that "thug" is the new n word.

It's like someone who's going to take offense is going to draw that conclusion no matter what and nothing will change their minds.

I was talking about crime in the inner city (that I grew up in) and I got called out for being a racist. I explained that I had no love for ghetto culture but noooo, I was talking about black people.

I don't understand, isn't it racist to assume that there are no cultural differences at all between people? Many of the black people from inner cities antagonize white people who live in the suburbs which is sort of hypocritical to me.

It's like, if someone keep saying that they were black when talking about these things, then they'd be called a racist and I'd agree. But using another word like "thug" is also racist which may or may not be true. If someone didn't mention race at all, then they're still a racist and apparently are trying to hide it.

So again, it's like white people can't talk about it at all. And I'm allowed to generalize about white people just now perfectly fine.

That's my biggest problem with this modern self proclaimed anti white movement, it's not about equality. It's about revenge.

There is some truth to white privilege..

But to generalize that white people don't have disadvantages is not helpful.

I think it's more the fact that the word "thug" is only used to describe a Black person but never to describe a White person behaving the same way.

Here's the thing: it's not just about what you say but how you say it. You literally say in one sentence you don't like "ghetto culture" and then in another complain about how black people antagonize white people.
Like, how can you be so unaware?

This is why you get the reactions you do.

Individuals may not, but the system of government that exists in North America and Europe in particular benefits being white. To deny it, or to say it isn't true, is ignorant and power blind.

Nobody is a bad person for being ANY race, gender, or creed. But be aware of the situation that exists around you and who it benefits. You, as an individual, may not have any ability to change that situation, but when you're talking with other people, especially about the differences in race and culture, you have to be aware of what situations are present that influence that.

The reason people get upset about people using the word 'thug' is because they are generally only using it to refer to black people, but using the word to avoid looking racist. It's like how years ago the news stations started using the term urban youth.

This one is my favorite. Liberals automatically assume black person when they hear thug and then have to yell racist racist racist to the person that said thug so the liberal can stay a perfect harmless person.

Its hilarious. The people who immediately have racist thoughts arent racist but the people who dont have racist thoughts are the racists. What a world we live in.

Edit: that also doesn't really compare to things like organized lynchings or segregation laws or other cases of institutionalized racism.
