John Oliver had a short Weinstein segment in his show earlier this evening. I don't regularly watch any others though and I don't see any sources itt, so it's hard to comment really.

I wonder if it's a channel thing. I'd say the guy would have some powerful connections in the media.

Things will probably be different now that he was fired.

I'm not sure why people are trying to act like it's because the guy is a liberal. It's the same reason he got away with sexual harassment for 20-30 years. Because he's a powerful guy in Hollywood. These people are protected. Look at Polanski. Nobody would have done shit if it never went to the NY Times and plenty of people have likely known about this for a long time.

Now that he's fired you're going to see more and more jokes about it. His power is likely gone.

I'm guessing Oliver was allowed to joke about it because he worked for HBO. Perhaps Weinstein had some connections to NBC and ABC.

So Weinstein is the victim and not the aggressor?

There could be a name recognition issue too. Weinstein is the kind of guy that most people have to look up on imdb for a refresher. Names like Cosby and O'Reilly are way more ubiquitous.

Mr. Michaels was unavailable for comment on Sunday night. But the person familiar with the preparations for this weekends episode said that the show cut material about Mr. Weinstein during its dress-rehearsal process. (This person spoke on condition of anonymity because NBC had not authorized the person to speak for attribution.)

This person said that there were jokes about Mr. Weinstein in a comedy sketch that was dropped before airtime, and also in its Weekend Update segment. These cuts were made simply because the material seemed to fall flat with the shows studio audience, the person said.

Overall, this person said, the tone of this weekends show was greatly affected by the shooting massacre at a Las Vegas country music festival on Oct. 1, in which 58 people were killed and hundreds more were injured. The S.N.L. broadcast opened with remarks and a performance by Jason Aldean, the country singer who was on stage at the festival when the shootings began; S.N.L. also featured long comic monologues from the Weekend Update co-anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che, who spoke in favor of gun control.

The person familiar with Saturdays episode said that Mr. Michaels, in referring to a New York thing and Mr. Weinstein, had meant that the events surrounding Mr. Weinstein seemed at the time like a New York media story with which a national television audience might not be familiar.

Following the news of Mr. Weinsteins firing Sunday, this person said the story had only grown bigger, and that it was still possible for Saturday Night Live to address the topic in a new episode this coming Saturday.

Indeed, Mr. Oliver told a series of jokes about Mr. Weinstein in Sundays episode of HBOs Last Week Tonight. Referring to a TV journalists claim that Mr. Weinstein masturbated in front of her, Mr. Oliver said, Step aside, Chocolat, you are no longer the most horrifying picture that Harvey Weinstein has ever produced.

Yep. Sounds like SNL will be making fun of him in the next episode. Which just so happens to be after he was fired.

Speaking of bias, when will Trump be fired for his past indiscretions with women.

Because he was powerful enough in Hollywood to have open secrets. He was powerful enough for Meryl Streep to literally call him God. No one was willing to mess with that type of power until he has already been disgraced. It's the same reason why the women harassed and the people they told/witnesses didn't come forward either.

We're definitely going to see the floodgates open now that he's been fired, isolated, and separated from his power source. I don't think it has much of anything to do with his liberalism.
