Yeah. I can't imagine playing it on console or mobile and being restricted to a world no bigger than a few thousand blocks across. I'm used to exploring several thousands out.

Dunno, I haven't done mods.

There was a PotD realm, but RedPixel kinda let it slide, so I quit.

Did you get the actual PC version, or the Windows 10 version? Because the Windows 10 version sucks, it's just a glorified port of the mobile version. Although it does allow cross play, which the regular PC version does not.

Oh, but is that what the Win10 version is now, or is it still based off an older mobile version? I don't know, it's been years since I played it, but I remember it feeling significantly stripped down compared to the original PC version. The only reason to play it is if you want cross play, but I assume if he really cared about playing with the same people online he'd just stick to his 360.

I've been through like 5 360's

I think we're going to get the kids an Xbox one for Christmas so now we can play together. I hate splitscreen minecraft

Eh. You can't really mod the Win 10/mobile version right now. It does run a lot better though, especially on low end computers. Still, mods are where 95% of the fun is in my opinion.

It's wired and I bought it from the Microsoft store

I plug it in, the computer dings, and I can turn it on but it just blinks green.

Do I have to have batteries in it or will it get power from the USB cable?

Putting batteries in a 'wired' controller? Doesn't sound like a wired one to me.

Wired is no batteries possible, just a USB cable. A charge cable on a wireless still needs a dongle.

Yeah, there's no spot for batteries in a wired controller, and you don't have to turn it on.

Both, really. If it had mod support, I'd be inclined to grab the Switch version simply because portable Minecraft would be fun. I find Vanilla too boring these days, though, so lacking mod support is a dealbreaker for me.

It definitely does, at least when you use it in the 360. Can't say I have any experience trying it in a PC, though.

This is clearly false though, the controller has the same power button and LEDs:

you don't have to manually turn on a wired controller, it turns on with the console/pc.

If you missed it on PC originally then it's ridiculously overpriced now (not that it still isn't bad value if you get another 50-100+ hrs out of it though) but I'm guessing you already own it elsewhere so you have to think about how much mileage you'll get out of another copy.

As for mods, it's been a while but I really enjoyed the advanced engineering/crafting/mining mods like Tekkit etc. if they're still around.
