1973's version of Wolverine is left lying in a river. At first, we're left to believe it's Stryker who fishes him out. But then we see glowing yellow eyes inside Stryker, so we're meant to believe that it's Mystique pretending to be Stryker.

And Mystique is good natured in this universe. She had nothing to do with Stryker.

So...how did Wolverine end up back in Strykers labs in the next film, Apocalypse?
