But the winner of the mayor is like 99% chance of going one way.

One guy is a smart, and trusted public official
the other is an egotistical idiot.

The smart, and trusted guy, I have seen less signs put out for him, but I have seen him in more yards for his support. The other guy has more signs, but only have seen them in public spaces. (parks, street corners and such)

Haha. No. They just OK'd 11 million for a high school football field and won't put more money into things like road repair

The ol' grain silo got turned into a strip club but it is no longer running :(

do you guys know if it's likely to be Nenshi again, or someone else? (I don't watch TV so all I have to go on are signs in people's yards, and I have only seen one Nenshi one, but many other ones.)

I only voted for 2 incumbents after seeing the town hall meeting, we'll see how it finishes. Turnout looked good and voting went quickly. Recognized a lot of people at the polling place. It's good to see people voting. Small towns

To be fair he is generally liked and kind of iconic locally. He has the best suits all the time. How can you even compete, we don't have a Nenshi here

Crime has got out of control. Mostly theft, some burglary, and violent offenses. The winters here are harsh and it makes traveling more tedious, though I am determined to get away somewhere this winter. I'm depressed thinking of how short the days will be soon. 7:15 of low, low sunlight. Angled in such a way that the traffic lights are painful to look at for the entire afternoon and evening until the long darkness. Gah. At least it's not humid.

BC looks appealing but oh man that tax difference. BC has a better employment rate now, especially compared to the rural AB outlook at the moment

Crime seems to be rising in rural alberta from what I am hearing.
Like it has been getting worse here also, and seems like most of it is coming from (at least around here) Siksika nation. Lots of Native "gang" have been popping up, and stealing and selling weapons and drugs from what it sounds like

My city voted for the 'popular' candidates, not the ones who know what they are doing. We now have a mayor who constantly donates money that is not his, council members who take half the year off, members who are only there because they have lots of friends, etc.

The 'actual' candidates lost out because they actually addressed issues (such as city overspending, poor management, crime issues, etc).

All of the ones who 'won' never once discussed the issues they were campaigning for/against...

Also, I can't believe Nenshi got in again... he has such a mouth on him I'm really surprised he maintained his position. He's worse than Trump at times when it comes to saying stupid stuff.

Honestly didn't care about any election today except Calgary. Glad Nenshi is back in. The lead contender was primed and ready to take it up the ass from the NHL and build them a new stadium for free.

Nenshi is the only politician I can name that actually has a set of balls.

are there any other reasons to like or dislike Nenshi? all I've really experienced is that it sure feels like there are a lot of potholes and a lot less plowed roads since he became mayor.
