Is warm mash motatoes ok tp eat? I wanna sleep but I'm told I shouldn't have an empty stomach

I took some more meds so I feel a lot better. Might be ok tomorrow after all

ok, I got my food, it's p room temperature
I hate this so much, my stomach is begging at me to eat but I'm tooo tired to do anything
I put a bunch of pepper on it
Gonna let it sit, I'm getting worried now, is it really safe to eat?
Edit: Also, how do I know if the sockets are healed and closed? I ran out of gauzes so I've been cutting somme (I washed the siccors) I'm worried about that too :(

leave it alone as much as you can, other than rinsing the area after eating. keep your tongue away. keep your fingers away.

warm food is usually ok. i ate a lot of pureed soup when I was healing.

Closest I have to soup is ramen noodles lol
I pussied out and got ice cream instead, making sure it goes straight down the throat sating away from both areas (this was really hardto do earlier with my big ass lip in the way)

Gonna take some more medicine in a couple hours and get some rest

By the way, you're looking at several days of healing time before you can be sure you won't get dry socket and can stop being so cautious. Plan on being careful for like a week.

I know it sucks. In my case, so did my molars chewing the side of my cheeks. Just give it time and treat yourself gently for now. It'll heal.

This topic makes me really grateful that my wisdom teeth aren't fucking around with me.
When I was at the dentist earlier this week, she looked at mine but she didn't say anything which I take as a good sign.

Hooray, I can eat whatever I want
Although I have loads of other issues that are a pain in the ass instead

It's almost been 24 hours, can I brush my teeth now? Seriously, my mouth makes me wanna throw up
Also, when can I stop wearing the gauzes? If I can just stop wearing them for five hours at 11, I'll be perfect :<

OK, ate a plate of mash potatoes, rinsed with salt water, and took some more medicine
Gauzes show I'm not bleeding as much, if this keeps up hopefully I can take them off before 11
Since I can't really brush my teeth completely, is it safe to eat life saver mints?

It just occurred to me, putting my retainers back on are gonna be a pain in the ass :(

I'm back, we misjudged the time :D
Only had to watch a bunch of training videos and get my info in the system, also managed to map out the kitchen

stopped wearing the gauzes during the whole time, when I came back appearently they're still bleeding so I drank some saltwater and put some back in. Hope that doesn't screw me over

Gonna eat some warm eggs maybe take some more advil and play some games ore something

It's only been a couple days right? Of course you're still spitting blood. You'll be doing that for like a week, albeit less each day. Someone just ripped the four largest teeth from your face. You're going to bleed from that.

But I have no more gauzes left :(

I'll be ok right? I'm a little scared by what you guys were telling me about dry holes now :(
Also, my chin keeps spazzing out and it makes it look like I'm repeatedly blowing kisses. Glad no one's noticed so far

supermarkets should have gauze... or even a walgreen's. they have the stuff you need.

the gauze you need to use for mouth not the one where you cover your arm/leg or head with.

Yup, you can buy it in the little squares which would be the right size. Rite Aid has them too.

Depends on if you asked your dentist if it was even okay to put on retainers.

I mean, isn't the main purpose of a retainer is to slowly apply pressure on your teeth and gums to reshape them?

Just guessing since I don't know much about retainers but, sensitive gaping gum wound + object that applies pressure to gums = no bueno.

The paper I got said "No dental care stuff like that can be worn in 24 hours" :<
I made sure to push the edges down so it wasn't completely on, it was just covering my front teeth :<

In all honesty if its been over 48 hours and you arent in pain to the point you cant sleep, you are in the clear. Unless you really f it up.

I don't feel any severe pain, though I still fill a little bit sore and I'm still bleeding a very little bit.

There shouldnt be any blood now. You have been lightly rinsing with salt water a few times per day right? And if you are smoking anything be sure to pull as softly as possible.

Hey guys, since this thread is dead I felt compelled to update it one last time
Also my food is gonna take awhile to cool down

So it's almost been a week, I completely stopped bleeding, no dry sockets (yea)
I stopped taking Advil though I'm still taking the antibiotics just to be safe
Nothing hurts, I can eat hard foods again
I'm wearing my retainers full time again
no more salt water rinsing (I was running out of salt anyway)
Yeah I'm pretty much almost back to normal. I tried exercising today and I still feel a little uncomfortable when I'm gasping or taking deep breaths and the air hits my sores, so I'll watch out for that
