My current girlfriend almost died the same way, except by freezing to death She went on a 6 hour hike with her coworker before meeting me and he was too slow and out of shape. They ended up staying in the mountains till 8pm and they missed the tram ride down and got lost, almost froze to death before her friend picked them up by driving up the mountain.
