99% of neogaf users are parodies of SJWs. You get banned for slightly disagreeing with them on any social issue.

I scanned a topic on CE. Man, neogaf is a site where if someone is accused of sexual assault, theyre automatically assumed guilty. Yet mods there are trying to cover this up. Lol.

I tried explaining they are just nerdier versions of the political heads here.

Basically this site is kids who were nerds and grew up and didn't leave because they retained this from their childhood.

NeoGAF is basically kids who grew up here and other forums that were so nerdy that they joined there because zomg maybe a developer or something would post there once in a blue moon, and they could feel like they know someonw in the biz.

Then you toss in the major sjw and white knighting the site molded on everyone with its moderating with a follow suit or get banned mentality (ironically by ppl putting on a front) and you get nerdier versions of the political topics ppl here.

The #1 reason people stop coming here is "the moderators". We're seen as overly strict for no real reason.

The big reason people stopped coming here is mostly wikis actually.

It used to be that people read FAQs as a good source of information on games. Now people read wikis. (And frankly wikis are better; I remember so many FAQs that had errors I knew about, wanted to fix but couldn't). With FAQs going out of style, the main draw of the site is gone.

EDIT: though sure, probably some people left because moderators. On the other hand, I did know people who left because they didn't like the userbase, which can be an indication of not enough moderation.

Do you not see the sheer amount of shit people get away with on Gamefaqs? It's so easy to not get modded here. You... you almost have to try to get modded to actually get modded here, outside of some of the shit tier sections(I don't post on Hellhole for a reason).

Like holy shit, mods are so nice compared to what you'll actually see on stricter sites. Get your karma high enough and you aren't getting banned unless you do something absolutely mentally deficient like threaten to kill someone.

Or post porn. But who cares about account suicides in 2017?

This, unless you're threatening someone, directly and completely insulting them (even this doesn't get hit on much a lot of the time here), being incredibly controversial/outspoken. You're good to go.

I once got a 3kl for joking that my uncle worked at Nintendo. That's how you know gamefaqs mods are jokes. The thing with other websites with stricter mods is that they have actual meaningful discussions taking place so when you troll you get banned. There's nothing meaningful going on at gamefaqs. It's all children with their console wars in non-social boards. Then on the social boards you have people getting modded for their opposing opinions because when you disagree with someone that means they're trolling.
