I know what you mean, man. I over it now, but for years that was a heavy stone of regret and I still wish I had been better for her.

It's a universal thing, ha

I sometimes wonder what life would be like if I had started a relationship with my best female friend in High School. I had known her since 7th grade and she was very pretty but I was an idiot and never went for it since I didn't want things to get weird if we broke up.

And every step in life was an uphill battle for her, I failed in a promise to help her in that regard. Guess I should take solace in she got through shit on her own.

Thats what I always thought when I let the one-that-got-away get away, but in retrospect i found someone better. Although I'd be lying if I said we wouldn't have been a great couple. She goofed, married this anti-social HS teacher who is a total loser and not even good looking. He was just a super nice guy type of guy and she had such a great personality that she liked the nice guys.

I got 2 of those.

One recent and another back in middle school.

I saw the one from middle school just last week, but didn't recognize her until her name popped up in the monitor when paying with debit. In hindsight, she probably recognized me when I think of the way she was looking at me. Maybe I'm just being delusional, but it brought back some feelings. Why didn't go for it? Because she was with someone and a child I presumed to be hers <.<

Also sucks even 10x more when you have social anxiety and don't talk to people very much.

I had one of those in high school, and I've always found myself thinking about her ever since. It's weird, no matter how much time passes or how much stuff happens in my life I always go back to that. I'm married with a kid and a house and I still think about some girl I dropped the ball with 20 years ago.

What's even weirder is she found me on FB a few months ago and she's married to a dude who looks like a shorter, fatter version of me. I try not to read into it too much

I'm lucky to not have the same regret as many of you.

Bae and I are in it to win it. I don't know heartbreak.

The one that got away for me is now an exotic car model down in Miami. There's some regret...some.

God I hope I'm not that guy who will still think about her if I get married.

But getting the idea of getting married seems foreign. I'm just not a fisherman so to speak.

But really stars aligned and I still dropped the ball, danced with her at prom, started randomly seeing her in public often out sheer dumb luck, went to the same freakin dorm in college. Ultimate fail
