We must be in an alternate timeline if a Madea movie has any sort of success.

That garbage is somehow always successful. That's why he gets to make so many. It's ridiculous.

I wonder if Tyler Perry actually takes pride in this stuff. Like, he finishes and goes, "YES! I finished yet another masterpiece! This is my best one yet!"

Been forced to watch almost every Madea movie made b/c of the girlfriend. The first one, 'Diary of a Mad Black Woman' is actually a legit movie. There are a few other ones like 'Madea Goes to Jail' or the 'Witness Protection' one that are pretty decent - they're funny if you got some experience with the culture.

These 2 Boo movies are just heartless comedies but most of the time in these movies there's a fairly good storyline put in there that has nothing to do with Madea - that's just the comic relief. But yeah, Perry's starting to not care and just cash in now since the franchise has so much name recognition.

Some Madea movies are legitimately hilarious and others are just lame as fuck (not talking about the ones that aren't meant to be comedies)

The first movie was at the top of the box office for a couple of weeks last year too. Meanwhile, nobody went to go see Bladerunner.

Diary of a mad black woman and I think Daddy's little girls. Madea plays a little role in the first movie. But I fucking hate Tyler perry, all he's done is give racists more of an excuse to look down on black people. The Boondocks said it best.

Yes, in fact I loved Ernest as a kid. I had several tapes of his films. Yes, I'm well aware they're both shallow, exploitative vehicles with even shallower films but at least Jim was a legitimately good actor with a character that spoke to my heritage.

In short, Madea a shit and Ernest is the best. Know what I mean, Vern?

That Boondocks episode, though funny, was still like the pot calling the kettle black.
