It sure would be awful if another woman stepped forward with allegations against Evilore. Yep, sure would be awful.

Evilore needs to resign and the site needs to change from the ground up if it has any hope of redeeming itself, but from what he's posted I'm sure he has zero intention and will wallow in his infamy.

The site might limp on for a while but it's done. I don't see it recovering from this. I don't see anyone in the industry associating themselves with the forum anymore. Then you've got the users who also have left in droves because of the allegations and now these new anonymous mod rules.

On top of that you're going to have people leave since Off-Topic is gonna be severely restricted.

EviLore's taint is just too severe. Nobody will want to associate with him anymore. He'd need to sell the site but I don't see that happening. Even that would seem like a reward for EviLore.

The site needed tonremovr politics and its mod team for awhile. It became a cesspool for the tumblr like community that alienaited a large portion of the adult gaming base. It ended up being a circle jerk for the games media and those that thought like them.

This, imo, made malka decided to dance with the devil. Even though he wasnt a far left progressive he started getting close with then because he wanted to play the dance and network up with that culture in the valley.

He does need to get rid of politics and not turn it into another circle jerk. Then once he finds compatent mods this time, bring everything back, but this time without a political agenda.

This could be a good thing for the site IF he understand what he needs to do. He will never win over the progressives again, butbhe could salvage this if he stops the pandering.

But this might be a little to late anyways.

Yes, but for SJWs mostly (well, it used to be). You can very easily get banned for merely posting an opinion, or hell, sometimes you don't even have to do that much. And no, not a "CE opinion" where you shit on someone or say something moderately racist while conveying your opinion, just any opinion that the moderator happens to disagree with.

Kinda. It was the 'hardcore' gaming community message board. It has a strict account approval process and you are easily banned. A lot of people in the industry posted there and used it for news stories. It was kinda like a news conglomerate for games. The board did a good job of giving some news and niche games exposure. They also had community boards and topics dedicated to niche stuff and most of it was really active.

When games started to get really political and heated NeoGAF firmly planted itself in the left wing side. That includes both Gaming and the Off-Topic board. This combined with the elitist atmosphere from the board made it a controversial community.

I think the difference is that GameFAQ's is very fragmented compared to NeoGAF. There's only 4 separate boards there. Duplicate topics are removed. Meanwhile we have boards all over the place. Topics are reposted constantly and spread among different boards and topics are eventually purged instead of kept alive or bumped. Even the one game has message boards spread out over several platforms if it's multiplat. So it feels like it's more active even though the userbase is smaller.

It applies to off-topic stuff too. If you want to talk about say the Walking Dead you could post it here, the TV board, another social board, the Walking Dead board or a community board. In NeoGAF you go to the OT and that's it.
