Of note that McCain, Corker, Flake, Murkowski and Collins voted along party lines for this one.

They hate Trump so much, they do exactly what he wants.

I honestly get the feeling they don't hate Trump at all, they're just saying that in public because the public hates Trump and by coming out as anti-trump while still doing what he wants they get to tow the party line and get positive press. Smart move.

Voting for this repeal isn't really about Trump is it? Isn't it a fairly republican vote? Those guys didn't come out against the republican party, they came out against Trump.

So I'm not gonna lie; I didn't read the article.

But I'm also not gonna pretend I'm going to get to the end of an article about banks and laws written by somebody in NYC for a newspaper and have any idea what it said, so... summary, por favor?

Yeah this doesnt really have anything to do with Trump, other than Trump being a republican.

Regardless of if Trump was in office, would they not vote the same way for this?

And yet, even with it out in the open the GOP doesn't seem to be losing supporters, in fact, they're gaining more support from these groups thanks to Trump, they should be thanking him. Because not only are these groups loyal, they know that even if there's a public renouncement, it's not actually true.

Before forming an opinion, you guys should really read the entire law, submit any questions you have about it to your congressman or senator, and then read statements from politicians and people from within the industry from both those that support and oppose the new policy.

Yes they would. The cosmic irony is that people voted for Trump because they thought things like this would stop in Washington, and still do.

yeah it's really weird to see lefties complaining about how corker and flake are terrible because they 'still vote with Trump over 90% of the time!" nah the president supports the republican establishment 90+% of the time, that is what you should be (and what GOP primary voters were) mad at

My main point was that we should be glad people from the right are speaking about how bad Trump is, but we shouldn't expect them to stop being republicans. Especially if their voting throughout their career had been the same on various issues

is your argument literally that people who have been harmed financially by large financial institutions should seek out their own legal counsel on an individual basis?

I'm not sure you understand this entirely, either

This effectively makes banks untouchable to average citizens, even if they screw over one that can afford their own legal console no citizen has the amount of money needed to fight a Bank's army of lawyers and legal ass dragging and delaying. With this, banks can effectively starve a potential lawsuit out and go about their business without even having to settle to make the client go away. I wonder how much longer til we get a law that strips an employee's right to sue their employer for XX amount of years

Most companies have clauses that have already waived your rights in favor of arbitration agreements.

Arbitration costs companies at least $900 to $4000 to participate in. It costs a consumer $200 but only if the company isn't forcing arbritration. If it is, then the fee is usually about $25 because the company pays the rest.

Filling for arbitration is the fastest way to get a resolution, especially when dealing with high amounts and when all other methods have been exhausted. Like I had an issue with Verizon over $6k. Nothing worked till I took it to the AAA. Within a week, I had a $6k check mailed to me.

$10K+ range is when it'll get tough for the consumer.
