I like Digi's topic and it's got some good laughs, but for the most part I don't feel any actual shame in them.

Here's 5 things I'm actually not proud of, the top two of which I never intended to tell you guys. I could expand out to 10 with a bunch of shit things I've done I don't care about, but well, that's not the vibe I'm going for now is it?

#5 - I don't think I've beaten a single game from the SNES era or earlier, not counting remakes.

Starting off with a nice tame one, but one I still regret. Shad lent me a copy of CT:DS which is why I included the remake clause at the end there, but it might still be the only game in that category. I've beaten the first world of SMB1 for posterity.

Tetris isn't really beatable but I have put a lot of time into it. I've gone back to some of the earlier Zeldas and FFs but never really stuck with them.

#4 - I failed out of university. Twice.

I was never intending to go to uni, but my parents kicked me out of the house. By which I mean, they went to a solicitor and got an official letter of eviction and gave it to me. They literally kicked me out of the house before the end of summer after school finished. I was left with the prospect of not having a home, so I rang a couple universities, found one that would take me and moved into halls instead. I loved year 1 of uni, but it was not my flavour. I scraped through with around a 50% overall grade, but because I was having such a good time, I stayed around for second year, moved into a house with friends and enjoyed year 2 as well. I did not however pass the year.

So I found another university that would take me! ...and failed second year again. All those student loans with approximately... nothing (beyond memories) to show for it.

#3 - I was a nasty, violent shit of a kid.

For a variety of different fucked up reasons in my childhood I'm not ashamed of personally, but other people should be, I did not get on with my mother specifically when I was younger and I was prone to violent outbursts. The police were called multiple times between me being 10 and 15.

One of the most notable outbursts involved me throwing my mother down the stairs. Another time I gave my stepfather a concussion for daring to side with her. And not in an impressive, boxing way. In a way whereby he finished yelling his piece, dismissed me and swivelled around on his computer chair so I approached and smacked him in the back of the head.

While those stopped after around 15, that was because I controlled my house. My parents didn't ask anything of me because they knew I would ignore it and my mother was scared of me responding with physical force. I also stole from them, completely ignored any concept of their authority and kept them out of my life. The fact we have a close relationship now is mind blowing and is a pretty strong indicator of their feelings to me.
