Veteran journalist Mark Halperin has left his gig at NBC after being accused of sexually harassing five women.

Halperin, 52, allegedly grabbed a colleagues breasts, pressed his genitals against three women, and propositioned other co-workers for sex during his time of political director of ABC, according to five women who spoke to CNN.

I sometimes think about the mindset. Is it an urge that's hard to control? Is it a domination or power thing? Is it a risk-seeking thing?

I think I understand making mistakes during the teen years when you're a ball of testosterone and emotions and you have no idea how to flirt. But when you're a grown man and you think it's ok to press yourself against a woman or to just "grab them by the pussy?" I don't get that at all, unless you're mentally ill.

It depends on if we're talking about real sexual harassment or not. The kind of stuff this journalist did is clearly inappropriate if it's accurate as reported.

But then we get claims of sexual harassment over stuff like this, where a guy is fired for repeating a Seinfeld joke:

Clearly he's not talking about the latter.

@That_Happened i too wonder what goes through these people's heads. Is there some sort of miniscule trigger, like a faint aroma or a certain sound, that makes them need to grab a boob right then and there? Or is it more of a narcissistic thing where they thing everyone wants them? Or could it be they misread the situation and are too embarrassed to apologise or do anything when the girl says stop?

I don't know. All I know is I dont want to live in this world anymore.

Catholic church has had a lot of trouble with this in the past. Poor guys just wanted to spread the word of god through the buttholes of kids.
We should really ban the entrance of kids into the US until this whole thing gets sorted out.

....Did you actually read that article?

After the event, Preston allegedly continued to send e-mails to the female co-worker who initiated the joke, in which he repeated the phase, "You are so good looking." (this is the Seinfeld joke) The woman complained and Preston was warned.

Several weeks later, Preston allegedly massaged the woman's shoulders in a hallway at work, generating another complaint. And early this year he confronted the woman at an office event. He was then fired for sexual harassment.

It wasn't the Seinfeld joke that got him fired....

EDIT: And if you're talking about the second case:

The first 'Seinfeld' case happened in 2004 when Ronald Knight was fired from his manager position at the Fareway grocery store in Shenandoah. Speaking to a female subordinate, Knight allegedly told her that he heard she was drunk and running naked through the streets the night before. He implied that her memory loss was due to lack of sex, and called her at home to ask what she was wearing.

Knight claimed that he was joking and was simply repeating a 'Seinfeld' episode. He was also denied unemployment benefits.

That's creepy af and not really defensible. Trying to re-frame that as "simply repeating a Seinfeld joke" doesn't work very well.

I guess my question is for Admiral then since he's regularly defending or minimizing the actions of guys who act this way. Have you ever spoken to a female subordinate in an overly sexual manner? Ever been charged or threatened with sexual harassment due to a misunderstanding?

Lasse Kroner is a Swedish television presenter.
Five years ago, he was working with a newly hired female trainee. He thought that they had a thing, so he sent her a couple of sms that he shouldnt.
She told her bosses about it and he had to say that he was sorry in front of everybody and shake her hand, and she seemed happy with it.
6 months later they happen to run into each other on the street and they started to talk with each others, and it ended with them starting a relationship.
One year later, Lasse decides to break up, because he didnt like where the relationship went.
One week ago, she got inspired by #metoo and went to the police, who are now working with a case about sexual harassment against Lasse Kroner.

Now Im against sexual harassments, but waiting five years and one relationship seems kinda fishy.

Nope.

Then why do you have the chip on your shoulder? Why interrupt a topic about legitimate sexual harassment to discuss more questionable cases? And more importantly, why use an article about two guys who were correctly fired for their behavior, that doesn't even support your point?

It may surprise you to learn that Halperin had, uh, questionable opinions regarding prominent instances of sexual misconduct
