It runs in my dad's family. My uncle actually has throat cancer now because of it and his odds of survival are not looking that good honestly. I've been taking pills for it for years after I had an ulcer while in college. Anyways I've taken Nexium and then changed it to generic Omeprazole a few years ago and I take it every damn morning and then I feel fine.
Yesterday though it felt like I hadn't taken it. By night I was having a lot of problems. Now today it just really was hurting so I took a 2nd pill a little bit ago which I've never done before. I don't know what to do. If I just suddenly became immune to the pills or something. ... Copied to Clipboard!

If you're going to use a PPI, you absolutely have to take it on an empty stomach (~30 mins before meals) for maximum acid inhibition. If that still doesn't work, you can add on an H2 blocker like Pepcid or Zantac.

My girlfriend used to throw up daily from hereditary acid reflux. She went on an elimination diet eating only white meat and easily digested vegetables and slowly reintroduced different kinds of foods
