What I got from the way they used water is the demogorgons avoided water. They didn't really explore it to an appreciable degree.

I figured it's just because you can't dig a tunnel through a lake.

Also, I would hardly call a stern talk, canceling his date to find his missing sister, and a slap child abuse.

IM actually with Koga on this one. I had a s significantly easier, comparably, childhood compared to Koga. But as someone who had the same thing done to me, calling it abuse is a stretch.

I never saw season 1, only watched season 2 just now and I actually enjoyed it. The plot was pretty predictable and the narrative was heavily liberal, but I love how well they did the 80's vibes and some of the characters were cool. I loved the indian psychic girl and her squad, as well. The demigorgon things were very derivative and the entire plot to kill them felt lackluster to me.

I just watched season 1 and 2 for the first time.

Season 2 was disappointing imo.

I hated how hypocritical Mike was this season. "So you guys want this new girl to join our party?! No! I hate her! You guys only want her to join because you like her!"
Yea, because you didn't do the exact same thing in the first season!

Eleven's story fell flat too. I loved her dynamic with Hopper, but hated her whole thing with Kali.
Why wasn't Eleven able to tell that all of this freaky stuff was going on? She knew when something happened in the first season, but now she didn't know any of this stuff was happening? Lol what?
Killing the demogorgon in season one took all of her energy and teleported her to the Upside Down. But now she has enough power to close a later gate and be just fine?

I'm glad Dustin, Lucas, and Steve got more screentime. Although Max didn't get nearly as much as she should have. It sucks that so much of Dustin and Lucas screentime had to be about Max instead of themselves though.
I felt bad for Dart though. He did seem to have some sort of relationship with Dustin...
Dart was so scared when Dustin charged at him...

Nothing got resolved with Max either... We didn't even get to see Eleven or Mike apologize to get when she did nothing wrong.

Where were the demodogs and Mind Flayer in Season One? Was the Demogorgon a part of the Mind Flayer's plan?
We didn't get to explore anymore of the Upside Down either this season...
One thing I hate about this show and most media is how bullets don't hurt the creatures unless the main character is the one shooting them.

Oh, and are the Byers just cursed or something? They never seem to catch a break...
Poor Bob... You would've probably survived if you were introduced in the first season instead of this one.

Well, that's enough ranting for now.

From what we've seen water doesn't exist in the Upside Down. Remember the pool in Season One?
We know that heat hurts the creatures though. Fire was the only thing that hurt the Demogorgon besides Eleven in the first season...

I really hope that the science teacher gets to be part of the adventure in a future season.

Will was afraid of the bath his mom drew for him, he said it was the heat though, so maybe that would've explained it if the vines didn't also avoid water, and we see Bob use a sprinkler as a weapon to clear a path by scaring the dogs away with it.

You guys are misinterpreting the sprinkler scene. The dog was attracted to the noise the sprinkler was making. It wasn't afraid of the water and it didn't run away. It ran toward the sprinkler...
