Texas Roadhouse is gooooood

I've been to two TRs. One in Oklahoma City and one in Omaha, NE. Both had peanut shells everywhere on the floor and people would just eat peanuts and add to the floor piles. Is it like that everywhere? I was totally cool with it but my wife was mortified and just broke her peanuts onto a plate until I said she was embarrassing me and dumped her plate on the floor.

ew. even 5 guys isn't messy like that

Like 90% of restaurants fall in that category.

I'm liking the idea of this fast casual thing. It's like when they invented boxer briefs for those who liked neither boxers nor briefs.

Tier 1: McDonalds/Wendy's/Burger King, etc

Tier 2: Fazoli's/Steak N Shake/Mcalisters, etc

Tier 3: Chili's/T.G.I.Fridays/Applebees

Tier 4:Cheesecake Factory/Maggianos, etc

Tier 5+: Shit I can't afford.

Where is Outback Steakhouse?

It's been a while since I've been to one, but I'd put Outback on tier 4 of that system.

Wait a minute, Texas Roadhouse is... good? 2 of them opened up near here, and I always just disregarded it before. Is it like Chilis/Fridays/Applebees?

Shit like Applebees and Olive Garden I guess, but you could consider Denny's as a middle point, too. Look for something local. Prices tend to reflect the quality better and the food will beat any chain in the same price-range.

I'd rather have Mcdonald's than Denny's IMO.

I guess your typical diner, and chain places like Olive Garden, and your typical chinese restaurant or thai restaurant are the middle ground.

Denny's should only be eaten at 3am when you're so hammered you won't have any memory of consuming it

tier list to me is like

fast food - mcdonalds, taco bell, etc
casual dining - five guys
coney island
applebees, olive garden type places
texas roadhouse and other steak houses
real fancy places with $100 plates

so lot of middle ground. coney island to texas roadhouse. hell coney island is better food and generally cheaper than fast food is.

I still haven't tried outback, but I've never been particularly into steaks. I like red lobster though! Where does that fall? Their entrees are pretty expensive, I pay $100 total for a meal.

Texas Roadhouse is awesome as far as restaurants in its price range go. You'll want to go at a low traffic time though, because the one near where I live is always absolutely packed on Friday nights.

There's a shit-ton of "middle ground" restaurants. Just go by like any entertainment destination (usually surrounding movie theaters or stadiums, for example) and there's all sorts of stuff, or go downtown in some of your bigger cities, usually a bunch of local restaurants.
