Also how why is Jesus Gandalf better than Old Gandalf?

Neither of them are allowed to do anything. So why does he go super saiyan after fighting the balrog?

So now I wanna talk about the signal fires they light from gondor that does sort of a relay of fires all the way to rohan

I don't know the general distance between things in middle earth but it seems like it must be at least dozens of miles between the two, if not more

Manning those signal fires must be such a lousy freaking job. None of them shown in the films have any horses or visible stables so it probably takes them several days to go anywhere if they need help or anything, they probably hardly ever get news from anywhere, a lot of them probably live the majority of their life next to some dumb fire pit that they have little reason to believe will need to be lit in their lifetime

And this makes Saruman and the orcs seem even more dumb, since taking out even one of these locations that appears to be stationed by maybe two dudes would have screwed up a big possible plan of cooperation between the two forces. Or they could have just lit one of them to confuse both sides and possibly draw out one or both armies into the open.

Istari are a subset of the Maiar. So effectively they'll be almost matched.

I know, but even among Maiar Sauron is supposed to be one of the strongest, or at least was in the First Age.

Which goes back to the other part of what I said: He wasn't a master of his powers. Gandalf was (In full form). So if they were both taken off of Middle Earth to a GODS GRUDGE MATCH OF THE AGES. Gandalf would be able to just go "YOINK" rip off Sauron's finger, wipe his ass with the ring, and then proceed to bitch slap his dumb ass around for a couple hundred years.

Now, if Sauron hadn't imbued his entire power into the ring in an attempt to subjugate the races of middle earth through it, yeah, it would be a fight. As it was, he literally imploded from having his ring finger cut off by some random dude on the battle field.

I really don't think Gandalf was ever that powerful, there's nothing to suggest that his powers were that limited in mortal form as much as he had his orders on how he was supposed to conduct himself. The Balrogs were Maiar too, and Gandalf died to defeat just one. When Sauron forged the One Ring, it significantly amplified his power (which is why he made it in the first place) and it was implied in the Silmarillion that Morgoth made him more powerful during his service to him. I strongly doubt any single member of the Maiar would have been powerful enough to take on Sauron or else the remaining Balrogs would have probably done so.

Everyone in lord of the rings is embarrassing.

They wouldn't rise to the level of "scrub ninja who dies in one move" in shogun assassin.

That includes Sauron.

Ogami itto would easily solo the entire lotr universe.

Gandalf class changed and everything though

but it still took him how long to kill a Balrog? did he even actually kill it?

I halfheartedly looked it up and and apparently he chased the balrog for 8 days and the fought him for 2 more. Like, doesn't he need to sleep or something?

Gandolf? No. Hes literally a demigod sent to the psychical plane in order to help them not get destroyed. However he couldnt use his full power, as the inhabitants of the physical realm had to save themselves.

He could have literally murdered Souron for breakfast and not have broken a sweat. The Balrog even easier. But hes bound to more human standards.

okay well, I killed one in a couple minutes

Gandalf needs to step the fuck up
