Really the concerned party here should be Ohio State. Conceivably they can win out and not get in right now. Wisconsin would probably leapfrog Oklahoma if they go unbeaten since they would likely go through Ohio State to do so but Ohio State could be left out even if they win out.

1 Alabama/Georgia winner
2. Notre Dame winning out
3. Clemson or Miami winning out
4. Oklahoma winning out
5. Ohio State winning out

Actually would be interesting at that point since I would say on paper Ohio State's schedule is significantly tougher than Clemsons. And I'd say it's harder than Notre Dame's remaining schedule who don't exactly have an easy schedule

Yeah, the Big Ten is in serious jeopardy of getting shut out of the playoffs for the first time if ND and OU run the table.

of course things never go that smoothly in college football so I'm sure a few things will come out of left field and disrupt everything

In fairness Ohio State did lose to Oklahoma, so that's fair.

Also frankly the thing that should scare you is the Alabama/Georgia loser likely should still be in the top 4 if they beat everyone else. 1 loss Bama or Georga is pretty scary.

If Bama wins there is virtually no way whatsoever they aren't getting 2 now...

If it would have reversed maybe... But with Georgia taking the #1 spot, yeah. That's it's

So it's up to us or Auburn (Realistically Auburn, not us...) to knock out one of them before the Conference Title.

It would depend on how close the SEC Championship game is. If Alabama blows out Georgia (or vice-versa, but that's less likely), you could make an argument for leaving out the loser.

It especially becomes difficult to argue for ND's inclusion at UGA's expense if Georgia loses close.

Well. Yeah. That should have been obvious. If Georgia loses by 48 they probably shouldn't make it. But I meant if the game isn't a burial there really isn't a way to keep both out.

For what it's worth, under virtually NO circumstance (unless OU loses Bedlam somehow, or TCU if they play them) should OSU make the playoff unless things go wacky.

The 2 SEC teams only leave half the bracket.

Let's say ND wins out cause they are probably going too.

That's one spot left.

OU gets in over OSU cause duh..
Clemson would get in over OSU as well.

Even if OU does lose, if ND and Clemson both beat Miami they should be the two in.

The only way OSU should have any chance to make it in is if OU loses, Miami loses to ND,
but then beats Clemson.

I don't see why both SEC teams should make it even if they both enter their match undefeated. Game would be neutral ground so a play in game. Why should the loser get in at that point? They would have literally just shown they weren't better than one of the playoff teams.

Also whilst I don't expect OSU to jump Clemson if both win out, I seriously don't see how Clemson would have the better resume at that point. Clemson would have a weaker schedule, their loss would look way worse and they'd have less marquee wins.

Well. For starters they are going too. Whether they should or not loses a bit of relevance.

As for the should though.

You can't put a one loss ND team in over the same one loss Georgia team that beat them at home....

Because they might still be one of the four best teams in the country and they could win a rematch?

Yeah.

We did see the literal same thing from the literal same conference...

And the team that lost won the rematch for the Title.
